Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Thousand armies couldn't keep me out See I've come to burn your kingdom down |
With the recent turn of events Loki was all to aware of his own mortality. What would come of it, if he could leave this endeavor alive was a question, no longer an answer in his mind. He had fallen in deep, becoming mixed in things greater then himself and his own ambitions.
Using the power of the renewed link with the Cosmic Cube had not been difficult, the trouble came with hiding that energy. Hiding his own and keeping himself invisible to those who could see him as he traveled the back paths between the realms. Odin, Heimdall were the main sources of concern that weighed heavy.
If either of them saw even a faint glimpse of the Trickster's energy, he shuddered to think what would happen. How he would no doubt drift further into madness if he was imprisoned, when his intentions upon returning were so pure.
Loki had not wished to return to cause a fight, but to, while he still held clarity, see the one person on Asgard that had ever cared for him. The one being he had not ever meant to raise a hand against. He was unsure he would be given another chance at such things. Thor was still upon Midgard with Balder and his children.
It was like a faded memory, as he was now trespassing routes he had taken in his youth to cross Asgard. Paths through the city no doubt forgotten by most. They lead to the outer walls and into the gilded palace. His own destination was within those walls. The palace had never looked so lack luster, so mocking.
Loki had rendered himself invisible still, exhorting even more energy to cover his tracks, to melt through the doors. He needed this closure. To let her know that he was not himself, that nothing was right in his head any more. Further more that he was in need of help that surely no one could give him.
There was much he needed to discuss, just to simply let someone know the truth. No more speculation about his actions. He was only doing, had only been doing what was needed, what he must to survive. He had been left to his own demons for so long. Loki was tired of the false words that were surely being spoken about his actions. He cared not for what others thought, however, Frigga's mattered.
Loki passed through the halls unseen, knowing that she would more then likely be in her Spinning room. If not he could wait. Loki remembered she typically lingered there. As he passed the guards and servants unnoticed, after he melted flawlessly through the large secluded doors. He found the room to be empty of her presence.
All he could do was wait, knowing that few ventured to this end of the palace, he let the glamor of invisibility fade away. Taking a seat on one of the chairs in the room. Loki leaned forward, His elbows to his kneed and his chin rested on his steepled fingers. t was worth the risk. It had to be.

Leaving the Trickster to his thoughts, his own demons was a devastating idea at best. Though it was not un common for him to put himself in such a position. His thoughts trekked paths of darkness, plans for destruction clouded them. The cube clouded them. He closed his green eyes for a moment to fight it once more. Loki would not allow it, not now.
An yet again it was whispering orders into his mind. That he was close, only room away from what he needed to achieve. It seemed this time he won. Much unlike the previous bout on Asgard. He had become its vessel, it had turned his rage to unwanted places and used him. Not this time.
Loki looked up from his haunched position in the chair once his keen ears heard the sound of the door's movement. His heart raced for a moment, prepared to strike should she not be alone. He rose from the chair tense, every muscle pulled tight. It was only second nature now. His nerves would not allow for the fluid nature he once held in his movements.
He could see the hesitation in her eyes, her movements or rather the lack there of reflected it as the door closed. They were alone. Words did not come freely, he had achieved what he wised and yet silent. Perhaps it was Frigga's near distraught form, the fear in her eyes and the crack of her voice.
"I could not play such a cruel joke upon you." His voice reflected his own nervousness. Loki was no longer welcome here, and he knew it. To venture so far into a place that would rather see him dead was not the greatest of Ideas. Yet he was confidant in his skills of escape. He would try to leave today without blood shed.
"I am sorry, for everything"

I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Her heart thudded, it seemed she waited eternities to hear his voice and in all that time she beheld her son. Blood aside, she had raised him from a babe, guided his path to magic when the warrior-games of Asgard did not sit well with him. How tense he was, fear etched in every line of his body and how tired and worn. Was he fighting the power of the cube? Yes, she didn’t have to ponder that. And then his voice. Frigga forced herself to relax, her own being on edge would not help him any. And at that moment it didn’t matter if he was no longer welcome here, if she’d had to make that difficult choice. She stepped up to him calmly. She knew she was only held together by the need to keep him at ease and to settle the anxiety she saw him in. She touched his arms and looked into Loki’s face. “No, even now, I believe you. You could never do that to me.” She gave him a tearful smile and lifted her hands to his face. “I know you are, Loki, I know that deep down you always are, but it is who is the most sorry.” She drew him into her arms finally, as if attempting to transfer all the warmth and affection she still felt for her son to him. “I could not protect you. I was not there when you needed someone the most. I should have been. I should have been there to tell you that you are and will be forever wanted and loved by me. Oh, Loki,” she whispered fingers running through his hair as if he was yet that child that could soothe with a lullaby. “It is I who is sorry for all of this. I would change it all if I just could. I am so sorry.”- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - you can't choose what stays and what fades away TAG: loki WORDCOUNT:314 SONG:no light, no light by florence + the machine CREDIT:erin aka lowearthorbit @ caution

He would have stepped back from her as she approached him. Loki knew however the chair behind him was in the way and the wall behind it as well. There was no point in it, no matter how skiddish he appeared to be.
Not timid so much of her, but of himself. Or rather if he suddenly became not himself. The Trickster drew tense at her touch unconsciously. Entirely unsure of who to really trust any longer.
Her words rang true, Loki knew she was not one to try and deceive him. As much as the cube spoke other wise. Perhaps it was right about one thing. The Longer he lingered, the greater of chance of being caught. Then what? Would his adoptive mother fight for him, beside him or turn him in?
It was though Frigga always was well aware of what was needed. Even though the embrace caught him off guard, Loki returned it. Resting his head on his mother's shoulder. Caring not that at any moment it could be interrupted by himself or another.
Something they both needed. He had been so lost to his own demons, it seemed that everything around him mattered for naught.
"There is no longer much hope left for me, I was reckless and now everyone will pay for what I have set into motion. " he could not help himself from saying anything, It just happened. Perhaps he needed to speak with someone who could understand the matter a little bit more then just its all magic.
There was really no one he could confide in other then the mortal woman. Even then he would not tell her everything out of fear of her safety. they were such frail, fragile things. Dom could not hold her own against The Other should he decide to make move. However they were well aware that Loki would not let such a thing visually effect him. Thus they left those close to the Demi-god alone.
"I do not know what to do any longer. I cannot stop what I am doing. they will make me finish it. Perhaps at least telling Frigga, she could warn Odin of the threat that was approaching.

I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For a moment nothing mattered but the feel of her son in her arms. She continued to smooth the hair on his head, hold tightening as he finally relaxed against her, his head cradled on her shoulder. It was a special ability of a mother to know danger and yet still act. It wasn’t that she didn’t know he could change at any moment. She knew the cube could regain control; his personality could close off all over again. She knew he could physically change: skin becoming ice-cold and burning her as natural defenses hummed to life. He could kill her. She didn’t care. She would love him in his darkness if she had to. Frigga knew that were they caught, she would do all in her efforts to protect him, help him get away. He had come in peace for once and she could not allow him to be punished for that. She would fight for him, tooth and nail. “Shhh, my dear Loki,” she rubbed his back and cradled his head, “my darling, hush. I am All-Mother, your mother, and I can see. I can see it all,” she whispered. “You are young, my son, Yggdrasil’s branch for you has just sprouted. I do not blame you for your recklessness, you were hurt…I know you still are. I will do what I must for you.”And she had seen it, she had seen everything. Yet she would battle all of eternity for her children, like a mother should. She pulled back and looked into his eyes; his eyes not alight in that infernal blue of the cube. “Loki, you may tell me anything. Let me hold some of your burden.” She herself was wondering if telling Odin would be wise, alerting him to help stop what was coming, whatever it was. If so Loki would be helping Asgard and perhaps they could find him help, give him pardon. “I want to help you, Loki. I will do whatever I must,” she repeated the last part because it was true. She would do anything for her son save turn on Asgard itself. Nothing would halt her if it might aiding her sons, even if it risked her life. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - you can't choose what stays and what fades away TAG: loki WORDCOUNT:369 SONG:no light, no light by florence + the machine CREDIT:erin aka lowearthorbit @ caution

It was a lie, he knew. Though it did not cause him much fright. He knew of talk of the other races, that one would come to end them all. Well aware that the branches of Yggdrasil named him Sorrow Bringer. Loki knew that Frigga was all to aware of what lay ahead for him. By what wrongs were committed against his sons and daughter, just for being his blood.
Loki pulled away from her and started to pace near fervently. How could he even begin to tell her such things. At what point was applicable to start what he had set into motion.
No, this was not his fault, Yes it was. Conflicted to his core. He was well aware that it may have been his fault at one point in time. Though his memory was hazy. He could not focus upon parts of it. So much time lost.
"But is it wise to, what will it change. What will come of it, But I have little choice in the matter" Loki paused for a moment, shaking his head."If I do not retrieve the Cube, The Gauntlet, the Grimhold of my own free will, I will not have it any longer. And I thought a renewed purpose would be the spark I needed. I did not know I fell to Acheron that night. "
His mind changed pace for a moment. It continued to whisper to him that this would do him no favors. These beings cared nothing for him. This was only going to delay the inevitable. That he would do as they wished regardless. So close to the cube, to feel its pull and to resist it all the same when the last time Loki was here he craved it and pulled all he could from it.
"I do not think that I will survive this endeavor with my Sanity. "

I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Frigga let him go, though the hurt that knowing his mind was so full of troubles was apparent on her face. She knew his name, Sorrow Bringer, that he was prophesied to bring the Night of the Gods, their end. Ragnarok filled her mind when she now looked at her son, but she was not afraid of the end, not of hers. She was afraid for those who would suffer and for the man who would suffer the most because he would bring it. Frigga had seen it all and knew that the crime against his children had, but started. There was still much to do and he was still to be punished. Yet all of that was pushed away in an instant, because she did not lie. It was unlikely that she all by herself could stop the future she had seen, but she would try. She would always try. It was her duty as All-Mother and especially as his mother. She watched him pace, longing to pull him back into her arms and make him calm, but she could feel the fever in the air. His mind was racing and so she played spectator. She listened to his talk. Then she stepped in front of him as his last words left his lips. How did she tell him that she would move the heavens if but to regain him favor? How could she make him see that she, that Thor, and that even Odin still loved him, regardless of race, of destiny, even if her husband could not separate that from his fear and suspicious of the one she never should have told him would bring their end? Delay the inevitable, her own mind urged. Delay and it will buy you time to save him, to alter the branches. “Loki, there are always choices. They are not easy and they cause the worst pain, but,” she paused and approached him again. “My son. No matter what it is you must do, no matter what you do…you will always be my son and I will love you. I loved you even as you cursed me the last you were here.”She touched his cheek, “Find something, Loki. Something you would move the heavens for. Commit yourself to it and your sanity will always be found.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - you can't choose what stays and what fades away TAG: loki WORDCOUNT: 386 SONG: no light, no light by florence + the machine CREDIT: erin aka lowearthorbit @ caution

Loki stopped his pacing as she intervened. The younger god merely stared at her, how could she assume that he still held a choice in the matter of anything. Just being here was a display of defiance. "Against Thanos? I have no choice. As easy as it would be to have one, I no longer do. I wasted that chance. He shook his head and laughed. ""If only it was truly that simple to escape"
There was no escaping this. Even if he were to find something to fight for. It would not be enough. Everything he found before had simply been used against him "Why would I do that. Have I not tried that before and only to have it ripped from my fingers by people with feigned smiles and false pretense?" He spoke of his children.
"By people in this very palace?! How can I make something seem important when I know the end result of it. They spoke of the void, of darkness that I cannot escape. They have my mind already, you have seen it, and bore the brunt of its actions. " He could not understand how she could just simply tell him to find something.
There was nothing. He saw no logic in what she was saying, if anything Frigga did not see the warning in his words. He could not simply tell her plainly to protect the objects. To have them guarded. That he would be the one to come for them. So close to the cube, without the presence of the Destroyer. There would be nothing to stop him from walking out with them. Cutting down any one that stood in his path.
The worst of all, it would not even be his own will. He was unlikely to remember such actions. "You have seen what the Cube can force if they wish it to. I am surprised they have not yet. So close to it. I cannot tell any longer if its words are truth or lies."

Post by Odin "All-Father" Borson on Jun 18, 2013 2:56:09 GMT -5
Nightmares plagued the All-Father's mind. It was not often lately that Odin rested easily. His thoughts seemed to always be of fighting or doom or war. There was no rest for him, even in sleep. Odin was thankful that when he awoke, he would have Frigga there beside him. She always knew just how to calm him. She knew how to ease his mind, even when he believed it impossible. So, this night, when he startled awake from a dream, his hand immediately went to his wife.
Only Frigga was not there. What would cause her to leave bed in the middle of the night? She didn't often wander at this hour, did she? Confused and concerned, for his dream had left him unnerved, Odin stood from his chambers and got dressed in order to find his wife. He'd had a feeling that his dream was more than a dream. The Odinforce was ever-vigilantly watching and had tried to tell him something. Perhaps a vision of coming doom. Perhaps events that were taking place currently.
It would not be the first time that such a sense of something gone awry had woken him, and Odin was certain it would not be the last time. He did not ask anyone in the halls if they had seen Frigga. There were very few places the All-Mother would wander at this time, and if her mind was especially troubled one of those places would be her spinning room. It was the first place she would go and it was the first place Odin would check.
But, as he came upon the room there was an ominous feeling about. He almost did not wish to enter, out of fear of what she might be weaving. How many more prophecies would spell out Asgard's demise? Odin was unsure if he could listen to another one of Frigga's visions without locking down the entire planet. But he was king and he was her husband. If something troubled her, he would seek to make the feeling cease. He would take her hands and calm her. He would let her cry into his shoulder. He cared for Frigga deeply and he wished she did not have to bear such a heavy burden. He wished he could make everything better. He wished he could heal her heart.
Odin took in a slow breath and gripped the door handle. He opened the door... and immediately cursed.
