Asgard and New Genesis. Two worlds, both home to gods. With new adversaries threatening their way of life, an alliance must be forged between the two worlds. At least, that was Highfather's opinion. He wanted to build a bridge between the two worlds, just in case something that was too big a threat for one world to handle arose. Orion, of course, was a little bit wary of the proposed alliance. After all, the Old Gods were supposed to be embedded in the Source Wall. If they were alive and well, as Highfather said they were, then Orion had every right to be suspicious of the Asgardians. Perhaps, then, it was a bad idea on Highfather's part to designate him their emissary to Asgard.
"It won't be as challenging as Apokolips." Highfather had told him. "Asgard seems a very civilized world. You'd fit in. It's a warrior culture." Although Orion always paid heed to Highfather's words, this time he felt as if the old man was losing his touch a bit. Nonetheless, Orion had begrudgingly agreed to act as New Genesis' link to Asgard.
The day before he was due to leave, Highfather's hall turned into a centre of partying and drinking. Mr Miracle, Barda, Lightray, all of Orion's friends were there. They celebrated until dawn, at which point Orion had retired to rest, until it was time for him to leave. He had said his goodbyes, and promised to remain in contact. He had the Mother Box open a Boom Tube to Asgard. He boarded the Astro Harness and zipped through the portal, arriving at Asgard. The Astro Harness folded up and attached itself to his wrist. Orion waited for some kind of greeting party, if there was one, that is.
