Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

The Titan found peace in the building and the emotions of those who came to visit. It was not high strung like those of a sport's area, there was not the wide range that was found when going to the Theatre. Instead the emotions that did exist were more often passive, not heightened or amplified. It was the perfect place for an emotionless empath to visit. As well as the fact that Raven was interested in history.
Silently, Raven moved through the rooms, one of the few to be dressed in dark colours on such a bright day. Once, Raven had tried to wear red but that colour had hurt her eyes. So it was that she was dressed in black jeans and a dark blue long sleeved top. A silver ankh pendant hung over her top. As she walked around the Ancient Greek section, Raven felt devastation and turned to look at a lost boy, tears beginning to spring in his eyes and she quickly hurried over to the boy, sending calming emotions as she moved over to the child and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It'll be all right, we'll find your family."
|
Raven said, looking around for anyone feeling worry. After a few seconds she had found it in another room that neighboured the current one. Guiding the child towards the room, Raven noticed that it was about the gods of the Ancient Greeks as she entered, glancing around for the parents. "Those are your parents, aren't they?" The half-demon said, bending down to the boy's height and pointing towards the two adults. The child nodded and Raven guided him towards the parents, giving a nod to the gracious parents before going to look at the artefacts that were on display and to read the given information.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Athena liked museums. She loved to visit museums because she was so interested in human history. From their origins to the present day, she loved to learn about them. She was the goddess of wisdom, so any sort of knowledge was tempting to her. She smiled as she stepped into America's biggest museum, the Smithsonian. She was currently in attire she wouldn't normally wear, but seeing as how she'd be out of place in a greek dress, she chose to play a part this time. She got quite a few stares perhaps because she was attractive to some, but most likely because of she looked like a 'bad influence'. Athena turned her attention away from the humans and looked around the Museum lobby. She had never been to this one, so she was fairly excited to see just how much they had there. Athena went from exhibit to exhibit, seeing everything she could. Most of the things there she already saw in other museums, but still... she enjoyed seeing them. Athena didn't know how long she was there, but it must have been a while. She finally came onto the ancient civilizations area. She smiled and wandered around the Egyptian mythology section before coming to her 'home' area; ancient Greece. She was reading the myth of how she came to be when she saw a young woman dressed in dark clothing lead a small child to his parents. She watched them for a time until the woman left them, so she turned back. There was definitely something different about that woman, but Athena couldn't quite place what it was. She became aware that the woman was reading a myth about Athena and the Gorgons. She moved over beside the woman, but not too close, and read along with her. Athena chuckled slightly and spoke quietly. "They have the myth wrong. The gorgons were priestesses of mi- Athena's, not priestesses of Poseidon's." She said, quickly catching herself before she slipped. She looked over at the woman. 'There is definitely something different about her... She's not quite human, is she...?' Athena thought, trying to figure the woman out. Outfit: VoliaWords: 388 Notes:

A vast proportion of the books that she kept at home were centred around the various mythologies. This one was about the Goddess of Wisdom and Warcraft, Athena, also known as Athene in the older texts. As she read, the dark empath became aware of another presence close to her and it seemed that whoever it was had an interest in her. This did not phase the girl and she continued to read until the woman spoke and Raven turned to regard the older woman with her indigo eyes.
As the dark being looked at the stranger, Raven became aware of the extra presence that surrounded the woman and the Titan frowned. "They have the myth wrong. The gorgons were priestesses of mi- Athena's, not priestesses of Poseidon's." The empath did not speak for a few seconds, noticing how it seemed that the woman had almost said 'Minivera' or possible something else. There was certainly a mystical presence around the woman and one that effected the inner demon within Raven. The deadly sin that was her birth heritage; Pride. She shivered slightly with the worry that her demon side might cause problems but focused on keeping her emotions under control.
"I suppose that nothing can get everything correct."
|
Raven said with a frown as she looked at the older woman for a second more before averting her gaze, realising that she was being impolite. Staring at someone was not the right thing to do and Raven allowed her gaze to wonder slightly. What was it that she felt from the other. "You're a local who knows their myths enthusiast? Or a visiting historian?" She said, ending up questioning instead as she tried to figure out what this woman was about. Questions often gave answers even if they were not direct.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Athena noted the woman's reaction to her, however little it was. She seemed to be curious about her as well. "I suppose that nothing can get everything correct." Athena gave a small nod to show she agreed. She looked around at the other artifacts and let her mind wander as Athena thought back on her past. She remembered all the things that had happened that were both good and bad. She was still thinking when the woman beside her spoke again. "You're a local who knows their myths enthusiast? Or a visiting historian?"Athena had to fight every urge to laugh when she answered. "I'm a traveling historian, you could say. I'm knowledgeable about a lot of myths, but Greek mythology is my specialty." Athena said, giving the woman a smile. She laughed internally, wanting nothing more than to just say who she was, but she knew it would definitely be foolish. Instead she stayed quiet for a while until curiosity got the better of her. She used a small amount of magic to feel the woman's 'aura', to see how she was feeling. Athena's assumptions were correct; she was curious... either about the Greek mythology or she was wondering who Athena was. Finally making up her mind, she spoke in a hushed tone. "You're not exactly human are you?" She whispered. She looked the girl beside her in the eyes, a calm expression on her face. She certainly didn't want to startle her, but Athena was almost positive that she wasn't fully human, and that thought sparked her interest greatly. Outfit: VoliaWords: 296 Notes:

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background, i47.tinypic.com/hrc1w8.jpg]The amusement at her question was obvious to the young teenager as she looked up at the older woman, wondering what the answer would be. Would the woman say she was a historian? Or would she say something else? "I'm a traveling historian, you could say. I'm knowledgeable about a lot of myths, but Greek mythology is my specialty." Indigo eyes watched the woman emotionlessly as she tried to figure out what was behind the stranger's inner mirth. Giving up on that, Raven turned back to look at what information was on offer, aware that the woman was still curious and when curiosity bred, questions would follow.
Of course, Raven could not deny that a part of her was interested in the stranger. It was obvious that whoever she was, she was not like the other people who were browsing through the history. maybe someone who had gotten powers from ancient artifacts? Raven had heard that did happen to some. But she wasn't sure. This seemed... more powerful? Probably not even of human origins... "You're not exactly human are you?" Raven calmly turned around to look once more at the woman as the dark haired teen heard the whispered words. She was incredibly calm as she regarded the stranger who had correctly judged that the Titan was not like the other people in the museum.
"I'm half human. But it isn't like I'm the only one here who isn't human, is it?"
|
Raven's voice was devoid of all emotion as she replied, her voice, like the other's, kept in hushed tones. "I'm Raven, by the way." The girl said. She had not yet reveled the other half of her heritage and there was a reason for that. There was little pride to be held in such thing and as much as Raven tried to hide from it, she did have pride. When you were the personification of that particular deadly sin, it was hard to hide from it. Besides, there were other things of more interest, such as this woman. Raven did not sense any malicious intent from her and so she had been quick to trust and not go to suspicion but she still knew nothing about this mysterious historian.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Athena did not turn her gaze away for a second. She gave a smile as the woman spoke. "I'm half human. But it isn't like I'm the only one here who isn't human, is it?"
She let out a small chuckle and turned back to the artifacts, loving the feeling of being correct. She reveled in that feeling for a minute while the woman spoke.
"I'm Raven, by the way." She had said.
"I am Athena and I'm pleased to meet you. You seem like the type to enjoy knowledge, history, and the like so I am positive you know exactly who I am and what I... do." Athena said quietly.
She softened her gaze at the woman; Raven seemed to not be a potential threat. If she was as interested in knowledge as Athena thought, Raven wouldn't be one to just immediately attack a goddess.
While she awaited Raven's reaction, Athena's thoughts drifted back to the 'myth' she had just been reading. She hadn't truly seen Poseidon in many centuries, but she still held a special hatred in her heart for him. She defiled a place sacred to her and her devotees, and that had angered her for the first time in quite a while. She kept her mind lingering in her past memories for a bit before she finally turned her full attention back to Raven, the mysterious half-human beside her.

The conversation between the two died as Raven admitted that she was not human but only half. The other woman was enjoying the fact that she was correct and Raven let her, merely wondering what or who exactly the stranger was. The woman didn't speak for a while but Raven was patient and she was eventually rewarded with a response. "I am Athena and I'm pleased to meet you. You seem like the type to enjoy knowledge, history, and the like so I am positive you know exactly who I am and what I... do."
The half demon froze for a second. She was standing next to a goddess of immense power and here she was, a little demon spawn of Trigon who was considerably powerful. Powerful enough that the evil in her heritage could be sensed at times. But nothing bad had happened and it wasn't like she was being blasted with some godly power so the Titan relaxed. "Yes, I do know of you. It is an honour to meet you," Raven said, respect and reverence in her voice as she responded to the goddess.
Pushing some of her hair out of her face, Raven wondered how exactly she should speak to a goddess and whether she should speak at all. "Do you find a lot of things in museums that they haven't gotten correct in museums or are they fairly accurate?" Raven said, looking at a statue dedicated to Artemis. It was amazing the detail that could be put into the statues that the Greeks made, the skill that they had.

"Yes, I do know of you. It is an honour to meet you."
Raven's reply and tone of voice put a faint smile to Athena's lips. She enjoyed being known and respected by people, though she never let that respect turn her arrogant. She watched Raven push some of her hair away from her face before she spoke again. "Do you find a lot of things in museums that they haven't gotten correct in museums or are they fairly accurate?" Raven said.
Athena thought about the museums she visited for a moment before she finally gave the girl a reply. "Not all museums have errors, though the most common one is the mistake I just pointed out. Other than that, the depictions of my family and the other deities are accurate," Athena shifted her weight to her left foot before continuing. "And you don't have to speak with such a formal tone, Raven. I may be a goddess, but I don't have the arrogance or the... 'entitled' attitude that many gods have."
Athena gave the girl beside her a warmer smile and then looked back at the exhibit's artwork. She felt a slight twinge of annoyance as she looked upon a painting of Ares, but she pushed that emotion to the back of her mind and looked at the other pieces.

As she looked at the items, Raven's felt Athena's joy at being known and the half-demon wondered whether it was impolite to sense the Goddess's emotions but it wasn't as if she could stop her power. Often she wanted to have peace and to not feel everyone's feelings around her. Listening to Athena as she spoke and the dark Titan nodded. "Not all museums have errors, though the most common one is the mistake I just pointed out. Other than that, the depictions of my family and the other deities are accurate," It certainly was interesting to find out the truth from an immortal deity herself and Raven was not going to miss a chance to learn anything new.
"And you don't have to speak with such a formal tone, Raven. I may be a goddess, but I don't have the arrogance or the... 'entitled' attitude that many gods have." The dark teenager paused at this and thought about the heroes that she had worked with, some of which had known gods and been linked to them. To be fair, they did not talk with as much reverence but she still could tell the respect that they had. "Very well. I was unsure of how to address you. I have not met many gods in my time and they are often different in the ways they desire to be treated." Raven replied.
As she felt a twinge of annoyance coming from the Greek Goddess, Raven turned her indigo eyes to follow Athena's and she caught sight of a painting of Ares. The emotion that the goddess had been feeling was pushed aside easily but it did remind Raven that she had read about their being conflict between Athena and Ares. Both of them represented different sides of war. Is this your first time visiting the museum?" She asked, choosing not to ask about Athena's emotions. It could be seen as impolite, besides, she had an idea behind the cause.
