And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Blonde, straight and short [pixie or just touching her chin], straight or slightly curled if she allows it to dry unhindered.
Eyes: Large, almond shaped, wide blue-gray eyes.(shade, shape, again be descriptive)
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 129 lbs.
Distinguishing Marks: Left ear is pierced twice, once at the end of the lobe and the other just above that. Her right ear is pierced three times the first two in the same places as her left and the third in the cartilage. Appearance:
Anna stands at height of 5'6”, weighs 129lbs, and possesses a strong, lithe figure that lends to both her strength and speed and she knows how to use every bit of her height and weight to her advantage. She has blue eyes, and blonde hair. She keeps her short which makes it easier to maintain and less likely to be a hindrance be it as a policewoman or as Rook.
As a police officer she wears her standard uniform, carries her standard .9 mm pistol, as well as a helmet often; she's a motorcycle cop. As Rook she wears, a form-fitting, black catsuit. The top is reminiscent of a biker jacket with a studded design on the collar and a zipper that runs from her collar bone to her abdomen, along with a utility belt in which to store ammo, her knife, and her guns. She also is appareled in biker gloves and durable, high-heeled boots, dangerous weapons in their own right as she knows how to run, fight, and use them to her advantage. Her outfit is both breathable and allows for added under layers when the weather cools as well allows for full range of movement, important for a Rogue in-training. She has a dark, gray half mask, which conceals her lower face. Not only does it lend to her appearance, but it comes in handy in other situations too.
If not in police wear or in her Rook disguise, Anna wears casual, fashionable clothing. She is set on looking professional and her age. She doesn't dress too young nor too old, but knows how to accentuate her figure for herself.

Personality:
She's a woman who plays a dangerous game, for she is a manipulator. Her goals are mainly about her own satisfaction, doing as she wishes. This doesn't mean she's incapable of listening to reason nor does it mean she's one for instant gratification. Anna is logical, attentive, and possesses an intellect not only formed through schooling, but through age and experience. She is dangerous for the fact that acts not purely out of a vendetta, but instead only to attain what she wants through whatever means she has. She revels in control, having authority, and is independent. One would think that perhaps this makes her incapable of forming natural human attachments, but that couldn't be further from the truth. She is more than capable of both the normal range of human emotion as well as forming attachments, but they just have to have something special. She'll be more than happy to give a chance to prove yourself, but don't be surprised if that chance is just so she can watch you humiliate yourself or knock you down a peg. Does it seem like she's playing a game to you? She is, but she respects this game, knows its stakes and is ready to accept the consequences when and if they come. She takes what she enjoys seriously, but that doesn't mean the joy is gone from it. Her game is like chess and dice, she treads a fine line in knowing how long to pursue something, when to strike, and when to cut her losses. Yet this is only part of the more private drives and pieces that construct the woman known as Anna Craven.
Anna is professional, in both her more public endeavors the shady dealings and persona she reveals to the dark. She is focused and determined. When she is given a challenge or sees something she wants to obtain or someone she wants to manipulate her mind is instantly in gear. She is methodical, but also has a quick enough mind to switch tactics at need or at random if the first doesn't work out or she sees another, more promising way. She has patience too; you can't be too rash in the field she's in, but she doesn't take well to failure to follow plans or failing expectations. She has a business to run, being a crime boss, and there are very few things and people she allows to get in the way of that. As police officer she comes off warmly, never crossing the line that would give anyone evidence, though her calm demeanor, sharp attitude, and her ability to remain level-headed, though an asset is her way of not only guarding herself, but she knows it makes people suspicious.
As Rook, Anna holds an air of quiet arrogance. She is merely self-aware and vigilant. She remains calm, expressing more often than not, only what she wants you know she feels. She is calculating, cunning, and confident. Her attitude makes you wonder just how much she knows about you? She is resourceful and uses that knowledge to her ultimate advantage. Her anger is quick, one moment she may be smiling and the next there could possibly be a gun to your head. She has all the power and sway of a leader and people who serve her, listen if they're smart.
If this gives the notion that she's two-faced, you may be right. The true Anna is a agglomeration of all these attributes, and only a select few truly know who she really is. She is independent, passionate, self-assured and self-controlled; and aware of her shortcomings, always even now working to improve herself and gain more knowledge. To those who gain her trust, she is loyal and even if this makes you think she's unapproachable, Anna can be quite friendly, you just never know if she has a reason for it.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers: None.
Weapons As Rook: A various assortment of knives and two guns: High Point .40 and a .32 Kel Tec.
Strengths/Abilities:
Anna is a current member of the Gotham City Police Department, working as an officer of the law. She possesses sharp, swift reasoning and logic. She can think on her feet, and often must do so. Fluent in Italian as result of her home state having a large, Italian population, she is easily able to handle, infilitrate, and manipulate the Italian mafia families that call Gotham their home. In words, whether it's police business or own, she can carry herself confidently. Her confidence doesn't only stem from her logic and language fluency, however. Anna is also skilled in basic fighting as well as several forms of martial arts, one of which is jiu-jitsu. She can disarm criminals as a result and also is physically fit, keeping herself in good shape in order to both chase down/takedown suspects, but also out run enemies. She's strong and quick, with a long-lasting stamina to match.
Along with these features, she also has even more practical skills that one would expect to be present in a police officer. She has basic first-aid training (including CPR) along with impromptu training a person acquires when having to live a double life, trying to outrun the law and the vigilantes who call Gotham their home and keep her identity a secret. She is versed in both writing and typing in order to file reports, give orders, and write notes. Anna is intelligent, but is also very instinctual. She uses all her senses as well as intuition to accomplish her goals, whatever they may be. She also has a good memory as well as knows how to handle a motorcycle and car at high speeds.
Though all her skills help in her day job as a police officer, they also help in her nighttime or more furtive position as a manipulator and upcoming Crime Boss. She is an expert marksman, able to tote all the standard issue police weaponry. She also is great with a knife. Needing to know how to use people for her benefit, she has extensive medical knowledge as well as knowledge of the mind. She has a Master's in Criminology from Gotham University, where extensively studied both crime, criminals, and the justice system. She is perceptive, having an eye for detail. She is insightful and very business oriented as well as capable of stealth. All her abilities make her a master manipulator and very dangerous and cunning.
Weaknesses:
Anna has no supernatural or genetically enhanced powers. She is absolutely mortal and as such can die be it naturally by age or disease, or unnaturally. You shoot her in the right spots, she'll perish, stab her correctly and you'll meet the same. She can at times be a little overconfident and though, she realizes this it can land her in trouble. She is not perfect and can be taken by surprise, though being a police officer, that can be a bit difficult. Her temper as well as can be manipulated, though she tries very hard to keep it under control. In simple terms, she is human and will err.

History:
Hailing from Keyport, a city in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Anna certainly didn't begin her life as a Gotham citizen. Instead she was born to Jean and Catherine Craven, their only daughter and their last child. She has a brother, Nicholas who is nine years older than her and still resides in Keyport. She was born on an New England Farm, her mother an elementary school teacher at the local public school and her father was a blue-collar, steel worker. She was from the lower, middle-class, but her family close and remained so even after her father died in a workplace accident when Anna was three. She remembers only flashes of her father, and from then on she and her brother were raised single-handedly by her mother, whose income was supplemented by money the Steel Company paid, since it was their negligence that cost Jean Craven his life. Anna was brought up a dreamer and taught common values, though her innocent would be short lived when she looked back on these days and she would always hold a resentment in her heart about her father's death.
She studied hard throughout school and when she was eighteen, gained a scholarship to study at Gotham University. Like all children, she wanted to see the world outside of her hometown and immediately took the opportunity, though her brother warned her about the city and tried, in good faith, though not without proving to be rather closed-minded, to convince her to stay and study locally. She originally pursed a study in medicine, inspired to help people like her father survive accidents, but upon seeing the reality of the crime-filled streets her brother had warned her against, she became fascinated by the criminal and decided she wanted to help clean the streets, an idealist undertaking, and one that would prove both her savior and her condemner. She studied for six years, working as Go-for/Intern in the Gotham Police Department from nineteen until her twenty-first birthday, at which time, after a year of conditioning and training, she entered the police academy and passed her entry exams. She gained first a Bachelor's and then a Master's in Criminology and then began her journey in order to scale the police ladder.
From twenty-one to twenty-five, she was a police officer, patrolling by vehicle with a partner for two years, before he was killed in action. Anna gained another partner for a year before she herself was transferred and for a year, was the lead police officer to rookie just like she had been. At twenty-five, only a few months after receiving her Master's Degree, she was promoted to a position as a Police Detective.
She had been working the beat for a little over two years, when she was approached by Batman to help him catch a killer. The assumption was it was one of the man's infamous Rogues. She wanted to help the city like Batman, had always been a supporter, but her involvement gained the attention of another unsavory figure in the Gotham Underground. She just got too close to his operation and with her also helping Batman, she was prime candidate to use to play with the Dark Knight. She was taken by surprise, abducted, and tortured for over a week (not many know the actual details from that time). What made the situation worse was Batman knew where she was, and could have saved her before the perpetrator did as he did best. Anna was left with both emotional and physical scars from the attack, as well as a resentment towards Batman who had plenty of opportunity to save her, who she believed should have killed the man, but instead had played right into the man's trap--she's never forgiven him for that and what it cost her. She was immediately hospitalized and then given extensive psychological therapy, but her mind would never heal from the damage and hate that had been done and had grown in her heart. She began to question the system she served. Her idealism and worship of Batman came crashing down like a mirror and the cracks remained, gaping and bleeding even after her therapy. She no longer wanted to help people, began to see the world as corroded. She didn't want to tear it down, but she was sick with serving altruistically. She decided she wanted power, came to think she'd enjoy it—which would prove true—and decided that if she was going to do anything, it would be because she wanted to, she held no thoughts of obligation to the city that Anna had died in.
Unsure, but keeping her insecurities to herself, she returned to the Police Force after a year, claiming that she was fine. She took up a position as a motorcycle officer, a position everyone thought she took because she was afraid of being a detective again, but one Anna viewed as a way to figure out what she wanted to do, while she got to take out her lingering anger on anyone who threatened her. She discovered her way into the Gotham Underground at this time and began to establish herself. Rook was born and she took up learning procedure and watching the ways of the mafia as well as paying attention to street law. She wanted control, she wanted to be a Crime Boss, who got to do as they wanted and she enjoyed the manipulation of people and the situations she found herself in. Now she was the torturer, she had the power, and she came to enjoy it. She found she was a natural leader and became, like many cops in Gotham, corrupt. There was plenty of suspicion of this, but no evidence came forward, and so she continued to work as a cop.

Anna pulled the black thread taunt as she pulled the needle through the fabric, careful that it would be concealed in the seams of her sleeves. Repairing her attire as Rook, or even altering it wasn't out of the ordinary for her. She allowed her fingers to trial over the cool, smooth material. She smiled fondly in nostalgia as she recalled the first carnations of her attire. It hadn't even been one piece at first. She could see all the versions of her costumes. The first had been functional, but too plain. The second had been too...revealing. Her lips curled back at that, but were soon enough back into their smile. She guided the silver needle back through the junction of the shoulder and sleeve. It was a small tear, easily fixed and then she could move on to make sure there weren't any more.
This costume represented almost a decade of evolving, how she had changed, became more aware of what she wanted, better at what she did. When all was done, it would be this outfit and the memories she had accumulated in the stitches that would tell her story. The costume was not constructed to make her Rook, she had made herself Rook and the costume just added to the image. She would be Rook with or without it, but it was this black one-piece fabric, the belt that laid in the floor beside her and the boots that sat by the door to be cleaned that set Officer Craven from Rook. It was her night and day. She hummed lowly as her fingers expertly worked and her wrists flicked. It was a dance she had memorized over the years. One stitch, two stitch, three—
The bed jumped slightly and Anna's green eyes glanced up at the lithe, splotched, and small form of the full-grown black, orange, and white Calico that had leaped on to the bed. It padded towards her and nudged her hand. She chuckled softly.
“Still a little attention monger, eh, Irving?” She cooed, moving to scratch the cat beneath the chin.
The cat purred loudly; she felt the vibrations against her hand. She ran a finger behind his ear and then the cell phone in her armoire rang. Anna continued to pet Irving, but leaned forward as well, listening. After several seconds the it rang again. She scoffed and Irving nuzzled his cheek into her palm. She stood and gently placed the outfit into a box which she pushed beneath the bed. The ringtone buzzed a third time. Her mouth pulled into a soft, expectant smile as she stood from her bed and opened the large doors. She brushed off the jeans she wore as she pressed towels aside and her fingers picked up the phone. She answered on the third ring.
"Yes?" Her voice was even as she leaned her shoulder against the wood of the armoire. Irving rubbed against her legs before taking off out the door. Anna followed as the person on the phone spoke. Her grin turned impish as she picked her way into her kitchen down a flight of stairs.
"Of course he was displeased, we replaced him. Supply and demand, supply and demand," she said and opened a cupboard. "What exactly did the threat say?" She pulled down a tin of cat food and popped it open. She filled Irving's bowl. "No, it's nothing to be afraid of. It's obvious he knows nothing, especially how much I know what doesn't. You and I both know we have no men there. He's earned himself the anger of someone, but not us. I don't associate with that kind and he should know that. I'm wounded." Her voice was sarcastic.
The tin landed in the trashbin and Anna stood up. She chuckled. "No, no...I wouldn't worry, but if he sends another one, go and kidnap his wife. No harming her of course. Just intimidate her. Drive her all around town until midnight, treat her food, and then deposit on a street corner with a phone and a note that explains if he's so upset, he can cut the petty little threats. Either he can act or he can contact me. And if that doesn't happen, the next time his wife goes on a ride...she won't be coming back whole. I'll send her in little pieces one a time over the course of a year."
Anna looked at her wrist watch. "Good, be sure you do. Now I have to go...my day job calls. Keep in touch." She shut the floor and smiled at Irving. "Well at least I can make you happy today."
