Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

It was a long trip back to earth, that was for sure. Not only because he was absolutely exhausted, but because of the thoughts that plagued him. Unlike his yellow lantern self, who could not remember anyone or anything on earth, he remembered everything from both spans of his life. He remembered everything he had been made to forget, along with everything he had done while he had been trapped under that woman's spell. He was fully aware that he had killed a lot of humans during his run in yellow again, making it difficult for him to consider being back with fear as anything other than a nuisance. He was supposed to be cutting back on the murder, not rushing to new lengths with it. How many had died for no reason? How many had he tormented?
It was almost worse that he knew the answers to those questions.
Sighing heavily, he arrived back to the familiar city of New York. If he was lucky, he would be able to float back to his house without there being any kind of trouble. There, maybe he would tell Miri what happened before trying to sleep. In the morning, he would worry about how he was supposed to make up for everything that he had done wrong. Eve, in particular, was going to need some kind of massive gift. He knew he had spooked the shit out of her and had caused a lot of damage. Why did thinking about how mad she was going to be actually concern him a little bit?
The fatigued Korugaran touched down on the earth lightly, having landed in a park not far from his home. It was not the place he had intended to go, but he really felt like he needed a moment to just rest before heading further. The long trip to Oa, the painful experience of getting the spell broken, and the return trip with its random encounter had all caught up with him, making him feel a little light headed.
But the guilt was still the strongest burden.
Slowly, he sat himself down on a bench in the center of the park, watching a small fountain as he allowed himself to relax just a little bit. With the hour on the planet so late, he didn't have to worry too much about something really intense happening. Nor would he have to deal with a bunch of kids asking him questions about his ears and skin color. Humans didn't let their young out at night.
However, he knew he might not be alone for long. By that time, the Guardians had likely been told of his strange encounter with the central power battery. Since they weren't the type to ask questions, they probably had already assumed he had tried to attack the place and had sent someone to try and deal with him. Maybe more than one, since they liked to think he was still a massive threat to the corps. Whoever would be coming, he imagined they would be arriving fairly soon.
In the meantime, he was going to try and have a little bit of a nap. Just while he could manage it.
Slowly, he reached down and rubbed his leg. It had been a long time since he had considered the pain there. Too busy dealing with the pain in his head to even be bothered by it. Now, thankfully, it seemed a lot easier to deal with.
Finally, a silver lining.

Yat of Space Sector 1760 made his way towards earth. The Oans had sent him to check out Thaal Sinestro, a fellow lantern who had made a few bad decisions to say the least. Not many thoughts crossed his head as he passed the sun moving towards Earth from the other side of the galaxy. He made sure to take in some of the sun's solar energy as he moved passed it, no doubt he would need it. As he broke through the atmosphere he began to listen out to the planet as well as his ring which would lead him to Sinestro. Now was not the time for second guessing his reasons for being here. He had to protect this sector since nobody else seemed to be interested in it. He sped up as he approached the target, easily breaking the sound barrier and moving towards mach seven and on pace to break a few more. The clouds parted around him as he moved over the African continent, it took him about 45 seconds to clear it and cross into the north Western Hemisphere. The signal was getting stronger from his ring, indicating he was heading in the right direction.
He came to a stop peering over the ocean towards the North American continent, his eyes began to zoom and scan the area of New York where the ring was giving him directions to. Sinestro was in a park, seemingly relaxing like everything was okay, as if he had not hurt people, it was disgusting to Sodam. That someone who took the same oath as him could do the opposite of what they signed on to do. Sodam took off once more breaking towards Sinestro, he planned on talking for a little while, but eventually he would get down to business. The Guardians sent Sodam because he was up and coming in the Corps, his experience was growing, but he could not help but think he was a bit out of his league. This was Thaal Sinestro, the former leader of the Yellow lantern Corp, the one individual who could manipulate both fear and will respectively. Perhaps he would learn a few things in battle today. He neared the destination and looked down into the park toward the other Lantern. ''Lantern Sinestro, I have come to make you pay for your crimes against the corp. You can accept arrest, or you can resist, either way, I will be taking you now'', he said landing not far from Sinestro glowing a brilliant green. To make the first move, Sodam unleashed a blistering wave of heat vision aimed for Thaal. *___*

Sinestro's eyes opened when he heard someone speaking to him, the man taking in a large breath before exhaling it calmly, as though he were more interested in waking himself up than paying attention to the man who had come to take him. He had heard his ring telling him someone had been coming his way, but he hadn't bothered to acknowledge it. After all, it wasn't his intention to run away, nor was it in his game plan to try and fight the other. No, he wasn't going to be making things worse for himself. Still, when the daxamite landed, Sinestro slowly pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the pain in his leg for the time being as he turned his yellow eyes towards the green lantern. He knew him, of course. He knew everyone in the corps, some better than they knew themselves. Their strengths, their weaknesses, their fears, Sinestro knew everything he could about the green lanterns. It had always been something he had taken a lo of time researching, and he generally kept as up to date with the new members flowing through as possible. This was no different- he was aware of this man.
He was not aware, however, that he would be so quick to attack.
Though he had the time to react, Sinestro didn't bring up a shield. He didn't dodge of make a counter-attack, letting the attack hit him square in the chest. With a grunt, he was knocked easily off his already unstable feet, slamming back into the park bench he had just stood from and breaking it from the impact. Groaning, he pushed himself up from the wreckage, slowly dragging himself to his feet. He looked down at his chest, at the fresh burns there, before once again bringing his gaze to meet with Sodam's.
"That hurt," he grumbled, "I haven't done anything wrong- not that was within my power. You have been misinformed." He didn't want to fight the upstart, but he also didn't want to get the hell beaten out of him if the attacks were going to continue being so powerful. Heat vision like that could have easily killed him if it had hit the right spot. Maybe this one had been expecting him to protest in some way.
"Anyway, I am Thaal Sinestro- do you really think you have the slightest chance of taking me in if I don't want to go, Sodam Yat?"

Sodam watched as the man not only did not block the attack, but he took it and flew back into the bench behind him. Something was odd, he wasn't putting up a fight, but even more, he had something to say when he was trying to plead his case. No no, nothing about this was adding up at all. He asked could Sodam take him if he had to, the answer to that would become apparent. ''Of course I could take you down, that wouldn't be the issue. But you just said you have done nothing wrong, but if that was the case, then why would the Guardians send me to bring you down?'', he asked beginning to think for a moment. He had heard other Lanterns say that the Oans were corrupt, but he never knew why to be exact. He always played it off as if they were just talking out of anger for some reason. But if that weren't the case, then was he just being used as a tool to promote their agenda? After all, Sinestro was in Green the same as he was, which symbolically meant they were fighting for the same cause, to protect those who wouldn't be able to protect themselves. He thought that was what the Oans sent him to do. He assumed he would find Thaal somewhere held up, torturing the people of this planet, but quite the contrary, he was simply here living in peace, until Sodam himself came and interrupted him. The thought of himself being unjust because of orders began to sicken him, he was nobody's puppet, especially nobody's killing puppet. The thought of killing never quite sat right with him anyways. And now that he was faced with killing a comrade, it was at an all time high.
He took a gander down at his ring, it stood for many things, will, hope, everything that was right with the universe, but then again everything that was a problem as well. The Guardians perhaps were corrupt, maybe they were just using the Lanterns to impose some sort of rule over the cosmos. But the rings were will incarnate, they were the user's to control. This gave Sodam new hope instantly, because he could make his own decisions after all. Fighting was not a decision he wanted to resort to. But after all, the stories he heard about Sinestro led him to believe that a battle would ensue as soon as they met, but this was not the case and Sodam had unjustly stricken him, which he would apologize for later, surely.

Sinestro chuckled. Foolish untrained lanterns really were amusing, even if the situation was not one he appreciated. He imagined the guardians knew the same thing he did- this upstart would not be able to take him in. If he had put up a fight, it would have only made him look like he was trying to hide something, and beating the lantern meant to get him would have confirmed it. It was likely the guardians had sent him for the sole purpose of having him lose, just to make Sinestro more of a target. Not that Sinestro liked to think paranoid things, but he knew the guardians would take any opportunity to make his life just a little bit harder. He still didn't know why they had made him a green lantern again in the first place, but now that he wanted to stay one, he imagined it went against their original plans. They were probably looking for an escape route.
Thankfully, it seemed Sodam was mildly smarter than they had anticipated. He thought he could win, true, but he also seemed aware that something was not quite right with the scenario in front of them. That was good- Sinestro had expected it to be harder to get a loyal member of the Green Lantern Corps to believe anything he had to say.
It was a little strange, having someone so willing to believe him, but he wasn't going to knock a gift horse in the mouth, now was he? Since the young man was looking at his ring, a perplexed look on his face, he imagined he was trying to figure things out. "If it's painful, I would be happy to enlighten you," Sinestro informed him, rubbing his chest a moment before pointing his ring at the bench his body had just wrecked. He used what little energy he had left to fix the broken object, returning to it and sitting once more. The burns on his chest, likewise, were already starting to heal thanks to the power of his ring. While no blue ring, they did have a good amount of healing aspect to them, at least when it came to tending to the wearer. He tilted his head as he watched the Daxamite, clearly in a casual, unthreatened state of mind.
"The Guardians didn't send you to bring me down," he told the other coldly, "it's entirely more likely they sent you to lose to me, to make me look like I really have turned against the corps again. They want to make me the enemy once more, and thanks to some recent bad luck, they had the right opportunity to do so." He was sure they had told the corps that he had been a yellow lantern again. How many knew, he couldn't be sure, but he knew they had probably made a show of his apparent treason. And he had just started feeling accepted again, too. Sighing, he sank a bit on the bench, his yellow eyes observing Sodam keenly.
"I wasn't on Oa because I was doing anything evil," he continued, "I was under the spell of a witch and I went to the central power battery to channel its energies and release myself from the curse. But if you want to continue to believe the guardians, that's fine by me. I'm not going to fight if you bring me back to Oa- it might even show you the truth about the guardians." It was an offering of peace.. If this guy was a loyal lantern, he wouldn't want to listen and would want to do his job. If that ended up being the case, then he would return to Oa and face the guardians as needed. Perhaps it would expose them, even to only one lantern, for the fiends they were.
"It's up to you."

Something was not adding up here, and it didn't take a genius to see it. The Guardians told Sodam he would be greeted with hostility, yet he was not. They said Sinestro would attempt to bargain his way out, he did not. They even told Sodam that if he had to, use his Arctic breathe to his advantage, being that Thaal's people did not enjoy the cold. But they did not tell him what Thaal did, when he told Sodam that he was probably being sent to lose, it made more sense. Te Guardians planned for him to lose to further incriminate his fellow lantern. Little did they know Sodam was more than capable of handling himself, or perhaps they planned Sinestro to die at his hands, ether way, Sodam was thinking and weighing his options. He could believe Thaal, and leave him be, or take him back to Oa. The latter was his duty, but he wanted the truth, the truth about Thaal, the truth about the Guardians' plot, and the reason he was sent here. Sodam was not getting any closer to the answer by himself though, the Oans had always seemed shady to him, but nothing like this. If the Oans would do this to a legend among the corps such as Sinestro, there was no telling what they would do to someone like him, a rookie, an upstart.
''I am not sure whom I should trust at this point. You could be lying so I let my guard down so you can attack. But then of course, you're smart enough to know that my speed advantage is great enough to easily close any gap you think you'd see. So I'm guessing that you are telling me the truth, after all, what would you gain from killing a rookie like myself'', he said lowering his ring and allowing it to rest for the time being. Still glowing emerald, Sodam began to float and look around, he had heard of this planet, earth they called it. Home of many noble heroes, as well as a few lanterns. He was particularly aware of the tales he had heard of his cousins from Krypton. He knew of Superman, and that was really the only one he had any desire to meet. He was lucky, he got to grow up here under the sun, while Sodam grew up on xenophobic, red sun having Daxam. How he hated that place.

Sinestro chuckled. "You don't seem to know the power of the ring you wear- I can fly faster than you with just your Daxamite powers, and even with your ring, I don't think you would be able to catch up to me." Mostly because he could do things with the ring that no one else in the corps seemed capable of. Like transporting himself from one location to the next almost instantaneously. Still, he imagined this guy was just trying to make a mark for himself- when he first started in the corps, he wanted to be the hotshot too. And he distinctly remembered several of the lanterns he had trained acting like they could stop anyone in the universe single-handedly. It was natural.
"Also, I don't have to gain anything from killing someone like you- I used to be a villain, you know. Killing corpsmen was something I did a lot. And it wasn't that long ago, either. I should think most of the older corpsmen still know not to trust me. And you would do well to believe them, at least for any other matter." He shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't there to try and defend himself and make it look like he was the good guy. No, he only wanted to prove that the guardians WEREN'T the good guys.
What people thought of him had always been, and would always remain, unimportant.
"It's fine if you don't believe me," the man commented, watching Sodam as he moved around, looking over the small area of the planet with what seemed to be great interest. "You can always spend some time spying on them yourself- I'm sure it would not take long before you heard them mention something unsavory." He crossed his arms over his healing chest, arching an eyebrow.
"You seem more interested in the planet than what's going on with me and the guardians," he chuckled faintly, "have you never been to earth before? It's not bad for a disgusting little mudball."
Sodam didn't seem like a bad lantern- one of the ones so loyal that he would be impossible to trust. Of course he was going to need to be careful, but he didn't feel like he needed to be reserved. Good.
Having people against him was so exhausting. Not to mention painful.
