Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

It proved what she feared, that she was dark, that she was as evil as her brothers and father. Closing her eyes, the teenager tried to meditate, to calm her emotions and get control once again. A small part of her wanted Fate to agree with her words. Death would be easier than living like this. "I will not kill you, Pride. Not while there is a chance to save you yet." Raven did not like being called Pride but it reminded her that she needed to gain control; fight the evil within her.
Raven took in a deep breath, focusing on one thing: the scales that Doctor Fate had used earlier, the Scales of Fate, they had said her deeds had outweighed her sins. Then she focused on the wizard's most recent words. There was a chance. "I may be an omen of darkness but I can choose my own fate." |
Raven muttered to herself, gritting her teeth. She could get her soul back under control. Determination lit in her eyes. The light was getting brighter and her soul-self was loosing. Strangely enough, that was good. Then it was over in a flash, the dark raven returned to the teenager and she let out a gasp as for a second emotions continued to flood her before she managed to control them. Kneeling on the floor, Raven bowed her head. She had not been able to remain in control all because of the fact that a spell would require her to kill. Eventually, she rose. "I am sorry, Doctor Fate. I did not mean to let my emotions get the better of me. I should have better control." The Titan appologised, looking at her feet. She understood if she would be turned away now. Suppressing her emotions, Raven decided to ask what else was needed. "If you are still willing to help, what else is needed?" Raven asked slowly, being sure to control anything that might escape from within her. "Although I understand if you'd rather have me leave." She added, looking up at the powerful wizard.[/style] tags:Doctor Fate word count: 389 muse: Various notes: Beautiful post! "You do not need to apologise to us, Pride." Fate said, showing no sign of weakness. The spell had taken a lot out of him, and he was not as young as he once was, but the flow of energies from the Netherworld sustained him, as it had this past century. It kept him from aging, serving as Nabu's host...companion...whatever it was that he was. There were many questions, but Kent was sure that Nabu was able to answer them for him. "We are still willing to help you in your quest." he said. But there was something holding them both back.
"However, we cannot continue until you learn to control your emotions in the fullest capacity. We can only show you the door. You must walk through it yourself." Fate said, moving his hands up to his helmet and lifting it off his head. The blue costume and sweeping robe disappeared in another flash of light. Kent stood there, looking just as experienced as he had been when Raven first stepped through the door of Fate's tower. "It was nice meeting you, for what it's worth." He stopped short of a handshake. This seemed a bit unceremonious. "Care for some tea? Inza makes it herself."

Emotional outbursts were not the best and Raven guessed that she was also appologising to herself, in a way. She felt bad for her reaction and knew that she should have kept the emotions under control. Doctor Fate was still calling her Pride; it was an incentive to keep her emotions under control - if she would be called Raven when in control. "We are still willing to help you in your quest." There was a 'but', Raven could sense it, heavy in the emotions that swirled around the room. She sighed and got ready to accept her fate.
"However, we cannot continue until you learn to control your emotions in the fullest capacity. We can only show you the door. You must walk through it yourself." "Thank you for your help, Doctor Fate. I will do my best to control me emotions." |
Raven said, bowing her head and shielding her eyes from the light that sprung. At least the light didn't hurt this time. When she risked looking up, the teenager saw the man who had first greeted her. Kent Nelson, or Mr Nelson. Raven decided to go with the latter. "It was nice meeting you, for what it's worth.""Yes, you too, Mr Nelson. I am grateful for all that you have done. If at some point I can repay your hospitality I would be happy to. I can often be found at Titans Tower." Raven said, politely, dipping her head in gratitude and offering a sile with her offer. "Care for some tea? Inza makes it herself." Tea sounded good, certainly something to calm the emotions. "Tea would be great, thank you." Raven said, wondering who Inza was. "Is Inza your...?" Raven asked, trying to be as polite as possible. There was little she could tell from the emotional atmosphere and Raven wondered if Mr Nelson would rather not share such information with her after she had had her emotional reaction. Raven herself, although she tried not to show it, was shaken by her emotions.[/style] tags:Doctor Fate word count: ??? muse: Folk notes: TEA RULES! "My wife." Kent said. "For almost 60 years now. The magic of Nabu prevents us from aging. Hard to believe, I know." He felt that he looked a lot older than he really did. Every now and then, he found the odd grey hair, as if he were going through a mid-life crisis of sorts. Inza, in a manner that befitted her, had retained her youthful beauty. It only added to the list of things that Kent loved her for. Not just their shared enthusiasm for magic, but kindred spirits with a passion for archaeology. She was one of the few who could wield Nabu's helmet. She had demonstrated that when she had actually taken the helmet and used it to send Lust, another daughter of Trigon, back to her maker.
"Titans Tower." Kent said with a smirk, pouring Raven a steaming cup of green tea. "How did it come to we with magic living in towers? It seems a bit stereotypical, does it not?" he asked, sipping his own tea. "Sadly, I can't help it. I love towers. Layers of levels upon layers of levels. Something rather magical about that, don't you think?" He didn't want to pressure her into an answer, but was curious at the same time.

Raven was curious. Within the Titans they often had relationships but Raven had seen many of those break down. Often put under the strain of possible death or even actual death. But the emotions were nice and Raven found them beneficial to have in the tower. "For almost 60 years now. The magic of Nabu prevents us from aging. Hard to believe, I know." The girl's eyes had possible widened at that figure. Mr Nelson certainly did look very well for someone who had to be around eighty or over. Plus the relationship had to endure time. Raven had never seen one like this. It was probably because she spent her time among teenagers, though.
"It must be nice and very beneficial to have such a bond." |
The teenager commented. Often she found herself wondering whether she would ever be able to have a relationship like that. Probably not, after all she did have to keep her emotions away. It would be dangerous. "Titans Tower." Raven took the cup of tea that was offered to her and held it in her hands, feeling the warmth of the tea warm herself up. Then she took a sip and gave a soft sigh. Tea was a great comfort after the recent events. "How did it come to we with magic living in towers? It seems a bit stereotypical, does it not?" The teenager thought about this. In truth she had not decided to make the Titans' base a tower. "Sadly, I can't help it. I love towers. Layers of levels upon layers of levels. Something rather magical about that, don't you think?" Raven nodded, still holding the cup of tea in her hand. "I must admit that Cyborg chose to build the tower as it is but I have found myself attached to to the building. I have never given too much thought into towers but I do find the progression of height interesting. It opens up more to the eyes the higher you go." Raven said, before taking another sip of tea. "This is very good tea. Can you give my thanks to Inza?" The Titan asked politely. Mr Nelson had said that she made the tea but Raven had not seen her to thank her. The teenager considered it correct to express her thanks in some way.[/style] tags:Doctor Fate word count: ??? muse: Various notes: TEA! Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style]
