Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Atlantic City was close-enough to New York to be familiar with the devastation that could be wrought by a Game Changer, especially if a Game Changer brought his or her Game Changer friends. Now, Game Changer wasn't common terminology, but Juggernaut was hoping it'd catch on. Game Changers were the kind of superhumans who were powerful enough that they altered the "rules" of the world, a violation of natural order. The kind of superhuman that only other Game Changers or groups of Game Changers could handle.
The Juggernaut was a Game Changer by definition. Once he set his mind to something and made a move, there was no stopping him. Unless you hit him with enough magic and enough force to beat the power of an Elder God. And who really had that kind of juice to throw out on a regular basis? They all got tired eventually, but the Juggernaut? He was tireless, endless, bottomless, eternally hungry.
A few people stopped to stare as the red giant slowly emerged from the Atlantic. Juggernaut had broken away from the Thunderbolts after a little lover's tiff with Luke Cage. A bunch of second-rate convict vigilantes couldn't hack it with the avatar of Cyttorak, who knew? Slapping their shit even got boring. Boring an engine of destruction in an act of violence was an achievement in and of itself, really. Whatever. He'd walked out into the sea and turned right after Long Island.
And here he was, walking out of the surf at the Atlantic City Boardwalk. What better place to break some heads and score some Greenback than Atlantic City? He couldn't decide which casino to hit (or which one to hit first, anyway). He paused for thought, turning his gaze to the people standing up and staring, and the few taking photographs.
"Maybe I should give 'em somethin' worth takin' a picture of," he chuckled, squaring up to the boardwalk and shaking out his shoulders.
One deafening roar was all the people got before he began his rush, kicking up clouds of sand as he picked up speed crossing the beach. He could hear people shouting. Some screamed, some cheered. Cameras flashed and shutters clicked as the tourists soaked up the glory of the Juggernaut.
The cheers died down when he hit the boardwalk like a bullet, carving through it until he tore out of the middle at ground level. And from there, he just kept going. Voices rose in panic as he ripped into a storefront, caving in the ceiling. He distantly remembered a time when he tried to care about that kind of thing but right now he couldn't muster a crap to give. He cut through the back wall, taking most of it with him.
Oh dear, it was a supporting wall and everything.
Juggernaut slowed to a walk as he kept going, releasing a bellowing laugh as a patrol car screeched to a halt on its way to the boardwalk. He actually hadn't stopped to think whether he'd maimed or killed anyone on the boardwalk, but he remembered a lot of screaming as he cut through it. Who knew, maybe he'd slaughtered a few fat tourists and who'd miss them?
A bullet ricocheted off his helmet, snapping him out of his thoughts. Which was just plain rude.
And there it was, the dawning look of horror on a doughnut-gobbling city cop's face as he realised he'd just loosed a shot at possibly the most dangerous thing he'd ever seen. The second officer was still in the car, calling down the radio. Juggernaut didn't even need to break stride, folding the car as he walked over-and-through it. There was a foot-shaped hole and a chunky smear where the radio operator had been, and the severed lower half of the shooter hung limply from Juggernaut's left hand, his upper half splashed over his right.
"Where's the local cape when you need a half-decent brawl?" Juggernaut bellowed, tossing the legs through a passing taxi cab's windscreen.

Teleporting straight to the scene was not hard and Raven's immediate concern was for the people around her and it was easy enough for the teenager to teleport to innocent lives out of harms was her first priority. It was the job that she always did when with the Teen Titans. Other heroes would deal with the threat front on while she protected the citizens. But then again, the daughter of Trigon could be a formidable opponent when needed.
A gun shot caught the teenager's attention. "Great." [/b] Raven muttered, glancing up from the child she had been healing. Taking on others pains was another thing that she often did, it would decrease the time it took to heal the wounds. Well it appeared that she might need to confront the problem head on. It didn't sound good from where she was and the teenager hurriedly flew the little distance that she needed to reach the scene. There was a broken car and remains that looked to be beyond her help. "Where's the local cape when you need a half-decent brawl?"The body was thrown and Raven saw that it would damage a taxi, that was passing, unaware of the danger. Teleporting, Raven raised a shield, protecting the car from the flying limb. Then she lowered the shield, indigo eyes looking out from the shadow cast by her hood. "Do you not understand the pain that you are causing?"[/b] Raven asked, she was painfully aware of what this giant man's actions were causing. There was already pain within the teenager and she could inflict it on the attacker if needs be, but she didn't want to. Raven was here to help, not harm. If there was a way to resolve this peacefully then she could take it. The teenager remained in the air, she was unsure of what the reasoning behind this chaos was. Why had the man attacked? There was always some reason, yet it was hard for her to understand, his emotions gave no sign of deep and inner turmoil as far as she was aware. Maybe if she paid closer attention to what his feelings, then she could determine his reasoning. If not, maybe she could show him the pain that he was creating. Of course, the Titan didn't want things to become violent or painful but there were lives at stake here and it was her duty to protect them. Besides, if Raven lost herself to her demonic side (which was a worry for the teenager), then she would want someone to take down - even if they had to kill her.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

That was a rhetorical question if ever there was one. Did he not understand the pain he was causing? Of course he did. That was why he was doing it. Pain, destruction, a good fight, they were all the Juggernaut ever wanted. Was it his fault that humans had a critically low capacity to withstand damage? No. Of course it wasn't. They got to the apex of the food chain by being good at killing, not by being tough. It was their weakness - being squishy little predators who relied on their tools. They always had to reach for their weapons. Juggernaut had his built into his body.
The chuckling started off low and quiet until it built to a booming, shoulder-rattling laugh as Juggernaut turned his head towards the floating girl and brought his hands together, popping his knuckles. The cracks came loud and fast like gunshots as Juggernaut moved on to cracking his wrists and rolling his shoulders, finally tilting his head inside his helmet and cracking his neck.
Yeah, this looked like a cape. Cape-and-Hood, in fact. She might present a better fight than a Cape-and-Mask if she had a little darkness in her. Juggernaut considered her question as he slowly squared up to her, grinding the asphalt under his boots as he settled himself into a relaxed stance, hands flexing down by his sides, itching to close around a neck. Any neck. Maybe her neck.
"I. Am. Pain," he replied simply, shunting the wrecked patrol car out of his way as he began to advance on her, "So. I see a cape and underwear as outside pants. But you dress a little dark for a hero. What are you, kid?"

But Raven was no oridinary child, although neither was the opponent she now faced. All the teenager knew was that he was strong, able to break buildings and wreck a car. The teen was silent as the laughing began to start, the cold eyes watching the man as he stood, almost as if calculating. Emotions were not something that the teen could allow herself to feel, least her father take control. However she knew that they had been building up within her - so she needed to be extra careful. The stranger cracked his knuckles and the sound echoes but Raven did not flinch.
The stranger turned, grinding up the path and Raven watched as he took up a relaxed position, although his hands were flexing. At least he had stopped his attack for now. "I. Am. Pain," The Titan was silent as the words went through her head. She didn't think he knew true pain. "So. I see a cape and underwear as outside pants. But you dress a little dark for a hero. What are you, kid?" "I just prefer darker colours." [/b] She said softly, although the words had struck home. Raven hated the darkness within her, the darkness within the human soul. Only her soul was not all human. The stranger was moving closer and Raven knew that she would need to be prepared for the attack. Well, she could make him feel the pain that he had inflicted, it was still stored inside her. Or she could blast him back with her soul-self, although his strength may prove to be of some use in that case. Or she could remove him from this field and place him inside her soul-self. There, his nightmares could be brought to life - or they could talk. It would be hard to harm Raven in within her soul-self. There she was safe. "But despite my dark colours, I'm not the threat to these innocent people. You are playing the dark role and I suggest you stand down."[/b] Raven said, trying to reason the situation out.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

"Standing down isn't really what Juggernauts do," Juggernaut rumbled, his voice like a slow-moving avalanche, "So if you're not going to give a straight answer on what you are, how about what you do? Other than getting in the way of an Elder God's avatar?"
Juggernaut continued his advance, almost circling as he rolled his shoulders and shook out his arms. The little thing intrigued him (though most things were little to him) - not everyone would be crazy enough to tell an armoured giant to stand down as if she had more control over it than he had. Although he hadn't heard of this one, maybe she was one of the new arrivals...
"And while we're working on introductions..." Juggernaut snarled, "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch."
Juggernaut whipped his arms upwards and forwards, bringing his hands together with a thunderous bang, shockwaves spreading out in front of him like a bone-shattering cone. High energy sound waves were a beautiful thing, a beautiful organ pulping, bone snapping thing.
((OOC: Sorry for it being short - hopefully this gives you enough content to respond to, though.))

Sight was not one of the most important ways of getting information. Emotions could provide Raven with a lot more information. She could tell where everyone was and what they were feeling. Most of the crowd were nervous, terrified. A few were marvelling at the sight, despite the fear that was within them. Life was a precious thing - Raven would not allow any more to be taken. "Standing down isn't really what Juggernauts do," Juggernauts... Raven knew about them from the books she studied. Although this looked like he might be a bit above the every day Juggernauts that had inhabbited the earth.
"So if you're not going to give a straight answer on what you are, how about what you do? Other than getting in the way of an Elder God's avatar?" An Elder God? Okay, this might not be as easy as Raven hoped. She may be half demon but she wasn't the kind to take on Gods. "I heal, whether it be the soul or the body. And I defend the people." [/b] Raven said, aware of the pain that was within her, left over from taking it from the bodies of the injured men, women and children. So she did have that as a weapon at hand, but it was also a possible problem. Already she felt like she had been through a battle. Still he approached and Raven began to feel slightly threatened, although she pushed this feeling away from herself. She would not allow herself to feel. "And while we're working on introductions... His voice definitely didn't sound friendly and Raven prepared herself for what seemed like the enevitable. "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch." Before Raven could respond the Juggernaut took action, slamming his hands together. Raven's eyes widened and she attempted to teleport away, but was hit, flying backwards, but teleporting before she hit the ground. "Hugh..."[/b] Raven breathed as she appeared behind the Juggernaut, staggering slightly. The force had harmed her, but already the teen was healing herself. "Maybe if you can not hear the reason, you can feel it."[/b] Raven said softly, moving to place a hand on his shoulder (only posible because she was flying). "I do not wish to do this, but you leave me no choice."[/b] Raven said, her voice emotionless, although it was possible that their was a hint of sorrow. Raven aimed to channel all the pains she and the others had suffered into the Juggernaut. The action would be made easier by physical contact, although it was possible over a close distance. Hopefully the attack would work and open his eyes. [/blockquote][/div] [/style]

Healer. Interesting when the support mage showed up before the tanks. Maybe these freaks did things differently than the freaks he was used to, and maybe that was a good thing. The slower the real fighters were to respond, the more he could draw like little flailing moths to his flame. And he was willing to bet there wasn't a Hulk or a Thor among them.
Teleporting though, that was a nice little skill to bring to the fight... of course, the key to beating a teleporter was figuring out their pattern and putting something, anything where their head or chest was set to materialize. Even if it was his arm. He could pull it out and it would grow back where it had fused with the poor teleporter. Most teleporters couldn't regenerate like that.
It was an option, anyway.
What confused him, though, was what she was trying to do when he left her no choice. The hand on the shoulder was... she had to be doing something. Juggernaut chuckled, raising his hand to bang on his helmet.
"You're not gonna get in upstairs, kiddo," Juggernaut sneered, swiping his left hand up to grab hers as he threw a right back-elbow at her ribs.
He wasn't in the mood to play anymore. If he got a chance, even half a chance, he'd tear her in half.
"Come on, can it with the psychic crap and hit me," Juggernaut bellowed, wheeling towards her and thumping his hands to his chest, "Or call for someone who can."

While it was easy it meant that the impact was less. "You're not gonna get in upstairs, kiddo," "How..." [/b] It had been then that Raven was elbowed in the ribs. I would have prefered being tossed. Raven thought as she felt her ribs crack. The Titan winced at the pain, if the ribs needed to be reset that was going to be even more annoying; it wasn't like she could turn off her increased healing ability. While Raven had been focused on the pain of cracked ribs she had somehow managed to end up a little distance away from the Juggernaut. "Come on, can it with the psychic crap and hit me," Raven looked up as the Juggernaut beat his chest, clearly not pleased with Raven's lack of strong, physical attack. "Or call for someone who can." Well that wasn't happening. "Be careful, you might get more than you bargained for."[/b] Raven said, although her words were slightly choked as she spoke. There was no option, she needed to protect the people and the Juggernaut appeared to only be seeking a challenge. Maybe he would be protected from her soul-self because of being the avatar of an elder god, but Raven's soul self had been baptised by her father, Trigon. So Raven rose and unleashed the soul self. If all went to plan, then she would grab him and enfold her wings around him, pulling the attacker within her so they would stand on a rock within what appeared to be space. For now, Raven would leave nightmares out of it. She didn't want to cause suffering.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

This place stank of demons. Something very old and very Hellbound had touched this place, maybe even built it. It felt like home and yet didn't - it wasn't the Crimson Cosmos, but it was still the realm of a powerful demon. It was like making it back from war but never really coming home. He could feel his blood burning in response, hot under his skin as his breath (why was he breathing all of a sudden?) scorched from his mouth accompanied by a heat haze and the stench of molten steel.
Inside, Cain was starting to feel it, fear, welling up inside him, but on demon turf, the Juggernaut was that much stronger again. And since graduating from the decayed, demonic Cyttorak to the Elder God Cyttorak... Cain had been having trouble maintaining control of himself already. Here, it was impossible. His skin throbbed with the fire running through his veins, his blood felt hot and heavy like liquid iron, and his breathing was for no more than show, deep, throaty, as if in pain.
The agony of his armour fusing with his body was just a distant, even enjoyable sensation. The red armour spread over him, feeling heavy at first until it fused with his skin and bonded with his muscles... it felt good.
"Do you really think bringing an Elder God's avatar to a place touched by demons was a good idea?" Juggernaut taunted, standing up straight and looking himself over, noting with some disgust that he looked startlingly similar to how he had when possessed by Kuurth.
((OOC: This is Kuurth - I was going with this appearance for demonic Cain Marko Juggernaut [minus the hammer, obviously] to differentiate him from the demonic "Colossonaut" seen in the X-Men comics. Plus, Kuurth looks way cooler than demon Colossonaut.))

Raven could feel the familiarity and loneliness of her soul-self around her and she flew up above the rock, so she should be beyond a leap's distance. It wouldn't stop conversation, though. Indigo eyes turned to the Juggernaut as she Titan carefully felt his feelings; the teenager did not want to hurt or scare him, she just wanted the humans to be safe. There appeared to be pain within the Juggernaut and she could see that his form had changed. There also appeared to be fear.
The half demon watched the Juggernaut, eyes wary as she regarded his new apperance. "Do you really think bringing an Elder God's avatar to a place touched by demons was a good idea?" The words were clear, despite the distance. At least he isn't demanding a fight - yet. The teenager thought. "It's safer for the innocents. Hurting people who have done you wrong or not is never right. Hurting them in search for a challenge is even worse." [/b] Raven told him, her voice soft as she spoke. Looking down, Raven regarded her boots for a few seconds. This was not her favirote place, despite it being somewhat of her own realm. "All I want is to protect the people. You may not feel their pain but that does not mean that it is gone."[/b] Raven still felt the pain she had absorbed, further proof that it was still there. On the positive side, the Juggernaut didn't appear to have figured out her demonic heritage, or cared about it if he had. That wasn't something that Raven often got among the magical heroes.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

"You bleeding hearts never understand it... right and wrong are just little tags you use to separate yourselves from those of us who don't believe in siding with the little ants at any cost," Juggernaut responded, trying to gauge the distance between himself and the Cape, "All of you, you're nothing without your right and wrong. You define yourselves by your chains. Cain tried to do that, tried to be so good and righteous," Juggernaut spat the words, "But Cain can't come to the phone right now. I'll be sure to pass on your moral conundrum. He'd probably find it quaint."
Juggernaut plodded backwards a few paces, casting his gaze out, looking for something to toss at the runt. Pain would be wrought this day and it would be wrought by his hand.
"You're a hero out there in the city with people screaming but... I just have to ask, because the answer tends to be interesting... what are you when no one is looking?" Juggernaut rumbled, continuing his search for projectiles.
((OOC: The Juggernaut has taken over completely, for the time being. <.< ))

It was not often that Raven had to resort to removing someone to her soul-self. "You bleeding hearts never understand it... right and wrong are just little tags you use to separate yourselves from those of us who don't believe in siding with the little ants at any cost," The teenager was unsettlingly reminded of the last time she had lost control - she had a feeling that her demonic side would agree with the Juggernaut.
"All of you, you're nothing without your right and wrong. You define yourselves by your chains. Cain tried to do that, tried to be so good and righteous," Who was Cain? Raven didn't know. Someone linked to the Juggernaut, but she was curious. The teenager was about to speak up when the Juggernaut continued. "But Cain can't come to the phone right now. I'll be sure to pass on your moral conundrum. He'd probably find it quaint." Raven briefly wondered whether this 'Cain' would find her true worry and problem more interesting.
The Juggernaut took a few step backs and Raven decided that she might have the time to ask about this Cain. "Who is Cain, that you keep referencing?" [/b] Then the Juggernaut spoke again with an interesting question. "You're a hero out there in the city with people screaming but... I just have to ask, because the answer tends to be interesting... what are you when no one is looking?" Normally Raven would have thought long and hard about this, but she was struggiling with her demonic side and so far the words did support the demon's opinion. "What is it to you? And do you believe if I can be something else when no one is looking, that I would tell you?"[/b] Raven asked, her face completely emotionless although her voice seemed to possibly contain a hint of amusement. Raven's eyes widened briefly as she realised what she had said, how she had slightly lost control, thankfully less than last time. "And I study, if it means anything to you."[/b] Raven said, this time her voice cold as she regarded the Juggernaut. Both times her answer had been true. But words could never been taken back.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

She was interested in Cain? Who wasn't, really? Some people even insisted on calling him Cain or Marko or some combination thereof. But soon there would be nothing of Cain but a shell for the Juggernaut to inhabit. He would become Cyttorak's favourite avatar whether of his own volition or the will of the Juggernaut. Cain couldn't stand up to the weight of the Juggernaut's mind – it was unstoppable in more ways than just the physical – and his attempts at redeeming himself were nothing short of amusing to the beast that walked the halls of his psyche. He would learn, in his own time, that while gods could bleed, they were much better at making others bleed than vice versa.
Juggernaut regarded her question for a few seconds, rolling his shoulders. He couldn't find anything to throw without shattering his platform and trying to land on another one with enough pieces in his hands to launch at her. What harm could it do to indulge the girl and answer her pathetic question?
“Cain is the runt who was kind-enough to act as a host for me, Cyttorak's earthly exemplar. He's the one who weakened us by attempting to redeem himself and become a hero... Cyttorak doesn't like when he does that though, and weakens me. I don't think I'll let Cain do that anymore,” Juggernaut rumbled, fire backlighting his teeth as he spoke, “I don't like being weakened by my host's futile attempts at defying my nature.”
Juggernaut folded his arms and considered the rest of what she had said carefully, trying to think of a way of explaining his question to her. Because she seemed to have misunderstood what he meant. That or she was mocking him and judging by her tone that was a definite possibility. In which case he'd rip some of this platform from the rest and see if she could dodge it.
“You seem to have misunderstood the question... Are you going to be one of the ones who cries when I pull out your spine?” Juggernaut laughed, “Because a great many heroes are no more than glorified cowards when they meet someone they can't handle.”
Juggernaut steadied himself in case the mood took him to break up the platform and play catch with the girl.

For some reason that thought came into Raven's head as she watched the Juggernaut, hopefully at a reasonable safe distance. He did look more threatening in her soul-self. “Cain is the runt who was kind-enough to act as a host for me, Cyttorak's earthly exemplar. He's the one who weakened us by attempting to redeem himself and become a hero... Cyttorak doesn't like when he does that though, and weakens me. I don't think I'll let Cain do that anymore,” A lamb in wolf's clothing? Was that what the Juggernaut was? Could I find Cain? Raven wondered. It sounded as if he would be a voice of reason.
“I don't like being weakened by my host's futile attempts at defying my nature.” Weakened... that would certainly be better for the people. Raven didn't like it when innocents were hurt. So Cain is a human host and you, the Juggernaut are what? You refer to Cain as a separate entity and this Cyttorak, is that the elder god?" [/b] To be fair, Raven was interested in this, not for any hostile reasons but because it wasn't something that she got to see every day. Understanding and learning where one of the things that she was interested in. Now the Juggernaut appeared to be thinking, possible in response to her outburst. The teenager hoped that he didn't pick up on that. Then again, he didn't know her and so maybe it would be avoided. “You seem to have misunderstood the question... Are you going to be one of the ones who cries when I pull out your spine?” That wasn't something that Raven had thought about. To be fair it wasn't a question that was often posed towards her. “Because a great many heroes are no more than glorified cowards when they meet someone they can't handle.”"That isn't a question I often get asked. I'll give it a think."[/b] Raven said, honestly. "Besides I don't think that you will pull out my spine while we are in here."[/b] The teenager added, moving into a sitting position as she thought about the question. At least the Juggernaut could expect an honest answer for his question. "Chances are that I would die in the process."[/b] Raven replied although she wondered whether she would go demonic if she survived. Raven wondered if the Juggernaut would reveal more things about himself while the Titan remained guarded. After all, he had brought up this Cain and that could possibly be a weakness of his. Another worry of Raven's was that within her soul-self it could be dangerous. If she lost control then nightmares might erupt around the Juggernaut or she might give in to Pride, who seemed to find the Juggernaut as an interesting and possible play thing. If she did loose control, Raven resolved to try and teleport to somewhere empty and far from humans. Precautions. "You know there is nothing bad about redemption and trying to be a hero, even if it is against your nature."[/b] That, Raven knew a lot about.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

“Entity... I like that. The Juggernaut is the Exemplar. He's the earthly embodiment of Cyttorak who is, yes, the Elder God. The juggernaut is an... aspect, I suppose, of Cain and Cyttorak combined. An aspect powerful enough to take over when Cain lets that anger out, and he's been angry for some time now,” the Juggernaut answered, knocking his fists together as he spoke, clearing his throat loudly as he finished.
The runt was giving Cain plenty to think about but the Juggernaut's thoughts were drowning Cain's mind, focusing solely on narrowing the universe down to his hands and the throbbing vein in the girl's neck. And just how easy it would be to break her. Some considered it an insult when the Juggernaut commented on how easy they would be to crush and ruin but in reality, it wasn't saying much. Who could hope to stand before an engine of destruction for long? When acting in his own interests, the Juggernaut had broken the Thing. Had broken Colossus. Broken the Hulk. Had traded blows with his universe's Thor when the God of Thunder had stolen some of his power. With enough power from Cyttorak (something he had every intention of obtaining) he could tear through dimensional barriers.
With Cain losing his grip on himself, it was only a matter of time before he broke and then the Juggernaut would be freed of his restraining bolt. The world would burn at his feet.
“We should find out. Come on down and I'll do the spine ripping for you,” Juggernaut laughed, thumping his fists on his chest, taunting her, “Redemption is a joke. Heroism is a lie. It's just a restraining bolt handed down from Moses. Don't make me laugh, girl. All your morality is a cloak of pacifism to hide your own impotence.”
The Juggernaut spat.
