Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Razer had been tasked with observing the world that he was imprisoned on, given enough ring energy to fly and fight for a time, but not to return to his home, or put up a resistance against Sinestro. And he observed. He saw how humans, despite living on a world much more bountiful than his own, and despite the gleaming facade that was placed over it, was just as much at each other's throats as his own planet was. Once the cities darkened, once the sun set in the sky, it was as if a whistle was blown, and a game of death and crime was started.
It was sickening.
Razer had been taking a liking to the western coast of the United States. The days were warmer there than they were in the East, less humid. He didn't have to expend ring energy to be comfortable, at least during the day. And while places like Africa or the Middle East were also appropriate for him, this kept him closer to Sinestro, making him feel slightly safer in case his ring energy got expended quicker than he had expected. And he was closer to more large major cities here, he wouldn't have to fly very far to visit population centers. That was where he was now, exploring a large city his ring identified as San Francisco. And...Africa and the Middle East hit far, far too close to home for him. He would burn through his ring in a day if he chose to live there.
It amused him that he was not the strangest thing walking the streets. All kinds seemed to live in San Francisco, it felt more diverse than Eastern cities like Gotham and Metropolis, though New York came close. He got the odd stare, but most people simply ignored him. It was amusing, how quickly humans could get used to the bizarre and unusual. If nothing else, they were surely an adaptable species.
His reverie was interrupted, when his senses, heightened by the power of his Red Power Ring, smelled the familiar scent of blood. There was a lot of it too, all from the same location. There had obviously been a murder, and more than one. Curling his lip in distaste, he flew over to the location of the crime, a small, grimy, one-room apartment that marked it as the home of a lower-class member of society. As he gave the room a cursory examination, though, Razer stopped in his tracks, horror beginning to overcome distaste in his expression.
It was a couple. Both of them lay on the floor, dead, together on the floor. And what made it worse, was the fact that all of their belongings were still present on the walls and floor of their home. This crime was not motivated by greed, as so many were. It was also not motivated by outstanding rage, or his ring would have picked it up. From what he could see, it was just senseless violence, without rhyme or reason.
The lack of motive angered him deeply. The mere presence of a woman among the dead more so. And, worst of all, there was no one he could punish for the crime. At least, no one that he could find on his own.

The teenager had been sitting a foot above the ground, eyes closed, when the disturbance hit her. Immediately her feet had touched the ground and the candles had flickered out. Composing herself, the teenager pulled the hood above her head. If she arrived and had to fight then her identity would not be known. The Titan closed her eyes as she stood by the window. She was still not used to sorting out crime by herself but it was needed.
The teenager knew that she could teleport to the scene but she sensed that the attacker was gone and that a quick fly around the area and attention to the emotions would prove to be of more use. Besides, teleporting to an area which was only known by emotions was not the easiest. But as she came closer and circled the area another emotion flared up. Anger. It was not a pleasant emotion to feel around her and the teenager placed a hand on her head, trying to drive the emotion away. But the building certainly had her attention now and she slowly, yet cautiously flew towards the anger.
Teleporting in would not be the wisest idea, she suspected. Anger would not dissipate with the sudden appearance of someone. Even if they were a hero. Coming to the door, she looked in. There was a couple, dead on the floor. Nothing had been taken as far as she could see. Then there was the being from which the anger was coming from. It was hard to think with the emotions that radiated from him and the teenager felt like she was missing some important detail. "I would be thankful if you got your emotions under control. They are quite strong." |
Raven said softly as she entered the room. She was no Batman but she was going to find out what detail she was overlooking. Glancing at the stranger, her indigo eyes calmly took in his appearance. She didn't know him but she doubted that he was some member of the public. Then she turned her attention away from the being and looked at the broken forms in front of her. Something had to have driven such an attack, there had to be a motive. Lightly, her hands brushed the woman's hair out of her face as she examined her features and then the wounds. It looks sacrificial. Without emotion, the teenager turned to look at the man's form. It was the same. This was not good. Getting up, Raven turned to the person, the teenager having been mostly attempting to block out all emotions coming from him. Anger would do her no good. "Did you see anything?" She asked, it now only occurring to her that his anger may be at having to watch the whole thing pass. The teenager was not good at understanding the reasons behind emotions although she understood the feelings well enough.[/style] tags:Razer word count: ??? muse: Demonbane notes: Nice Post! Razer watched as another person flew inside the room. With a muttered curse, Razer turns to meet the newcomer, annoyance only taking precedence over rage by a small margin. Obviously one of the humans granted with powers beyond the norm. Sinestro had informed him that was a fairly common occurrence among their species. With his luck, she would probably blame him for the struggle that had happened here.
"And just what is it that you want? You are far too late to stop the violence here, or catch the perpetrator. I should know..."
As the human asks her to control his emotions, Razer turns a shocked glance at her, that slowly deepened into distaste.
"Who are you to ask me to reign in my emotions? I will not suppress how I feel about the scum who could have committed such a vile act simply because it will harm your delicate sensibilities, human."
Mockery dripped from his words, but no real malice was behind it. He felt no real hatred for the human girl, she had done nothing to harm him, in fact, she did the same thing he had. With a sigh, he shakes his head.
"Why do you want me to suppress my emotions? You are not a Lantern, you should not be affected by my presence on the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. Is there any reason why I should?"
Already feeling slightly less angry, Razer begins to help the human look through the apartment. There may have been some clue he missed, something he could trace with a hunter-killer drone, anything to give him a lead to find the monsters that brought back memories of days gone by.
"Unfortunately, no, I did not. I flew in to investigate the crime, but I was too late to catch it in the act. If I were, there would be quite a few more bodies in the pile." Razer stops, and shakes his head. Now was not the time for macabre jokes. "Is there anything you are able to find? I am not long on this planet...there might be something cultural that would indicate the locations of the perpetrators."

The bright emotions no long blocked out everything and the ache in her head had died down. Still, this situation had Raven almost feeling worry. And the Titan was not allowed to feel. "Hmm...an empath. Yes, I can see how my presence might be troubling for one of your type. I will try to keep my rage to acceptable levels, though when dealing with scum like this, that might prove impossible. Fair warning." Raven nodded, it was kind of him. Not many would consider that, especially when under the influence of rage, which was on of the deadly sins.
"Thank you, you are much more considerate than others." |
Raven commented. If only more people knew how to control their emotions and would be considerate enough to do it every now and again... it would be a lot easier on the empath. As she spoke about not killing, the teenager watched the Lantern, wondering how he would respond. In her time she had met many who preferred murder to imprisoning. But Raven had been taught that violence was wrong, even to save a life. Although her opinion had changed on that and she would fight, she was still against taking a life. "Please, do not seek to lecture me on the matter. I have no time for it. Those who would commit such an act will die by my hand...though if you believe they deserve incarceration instead of death, I will leave those you defeat to you."That was better than nothing and better than some, Raven supposed. She would leave the topic for now. With the emotional atmosphere improved, she didn't want to risk it. It was then that Raven had made the connection that it was a sacrifice and most likely to a demonic entity of whom Trigon was likely to blame. Although she prayed that she was wrong. Already the teenager knew that her father was gaining power. Raven herself had a lost control of herself because of his influence and she shuddered slightly. "Sacrificed...you mean these kills were done in tribute to someone? Then these people were killed merely to amuse someone powerful?"Powerful... That was one way to look at Trigon. Or gaining power. The Titan had hoped that he would not present a problem for a while longer but it appeared that the fates were not with her. "Do you know where they are? Or how to find them?" "I believe that it may be Brother Blood who is behind this attack. They are worshipers of," Raven paused, looking at the bodies. It brought up thoughts of the past that she would prefer to leave. "Trigon. A powerful demonic entity. He had lost power but has been gaining it. He is a strong enemy and one I would not care to face." Turning away from the bodies, the Titan looked at the strange Lantern. "I know several of their places of worship. I would rather not confront them yet but if my..." She was about to say 'father is rising once more' but the teenager stopped herself. She was used to having the Titans to talk to about such issues. Not a stranger. "haunch is right, then we need to stop them before Trigon can gain more power. If you want to come, then keep your emotions under control." The teenager lightly lifted herself into the air. Her plan would be to teleport to the various bases. When it was made perfectly clear that his anger was only impeding the search for the ones responsible for the crime, Razer sighs, and works on suppressing them. It was something instilled into him during his time in the militia, when emotions interfere with the task at hand, you force the different vying emotions into submission, and work like a machine. If that will help bring the murderers to justice, then he can save his hate for later. Rage still burned hot in his core, but he was able to keep it down, so that it wouldn't affect the girl.
"Hmm...an empath. Yes, I can see how my presence might be troubling for one of your type. I will try to keep my rage to acceptable levels, though when dealing with scum like this, that might prove impossible. Fair warning."
Razer shakes his head as she tries to tell him that killing is not the answer. He did not fight for justice, as the superpowered humans and Green Lanterns did. He fought because the presence of murderers angered him, because that crime had been what reduced him to the point where rage was the only part of his existence that mattered, where rage consumed his life. He fought for revenge, and revenge that did not end in death left the trade uneven. Not when the murderers create people like him, people broken by loss, left nothing but a hollow shell for rage to fill.
"Please, do not seek to lecture me on the matter. I have no time for it. Those who would commit such an act will die by my hand...though if you believe they deserve incarceration instead of death, I will leave those you defeat to you." Fairly magnanimous, Razer thought. Due consideration for the aid she was giving him in tracking down the murderers.
As the empath examined the corpses once again, Razer stands on edge as she reveals she has found something. Discounting the exclamation, no doubt some Earth-centered name that did not translate effectively, Razer moves in closer, trying to see what she does.
"Sacrificed...you mean these kills were done in tribute to someone? Then these people were killed merely to amuse someone powerful?"
The connection to the warlords of his world who would kill innocents for amusement came back into his head, and he almost lost his control on his rage-filled core. He could not lose his hold on the emotions, not when the empath needed a clear head to track the ones responsible.
"Do you know where they are? Or how to find them?" Razer asks, keeping himself as calm as he can under the circumstances.

Raven seemed very appreciative of him reigning back his rage, and he responds with a sigh and a nod. While the scene of blood and death is enough to draw out dark memories, and feed his rage...as long as he had a job to do, he wouldn't consider such matters. Besides, controlling his emotions was something he would need to do quite often on this planet...simply being here was an indignity, and the conditions Sinestro placed on his "freedom" are even more rankling.
"Anyone who would not at least mute their emotions in the presence of an empath is a fool. I will not have my mind scanned, not if I can help it. Though...you are welcome."
He gave her a nod as she did not bring up the killing. He knew that many did not approve of murder in the pursuit of justice, but he would not be denied his revenge. His Red Power Ring gave him the power to be their judge, jury, and executioner, as dictated by his anger. Justice was his to mete out, revenge his right. For some unknown reason, that thought rankled him slightly. He could not understand why. It would only be after the mission was over, when he realized that was exactly the opinion of the warlords, that strength equals judgment.
Razer continues to look over the bodies as Raven explains. He tries to scan it with his ring for something that corroborates Raven's diagnosis, some telltale mark that separates it from other killings. If they were to track this cult, that would be a good lead.
"So this...Brother Blood, serves a demon? And these humans were killed in a religious rite?" Razer asks to confirm he understands the situation. "Demon" was a term he didn't quite understand, though he had heard weaker sentients refer to Atrocitus as that on occasion. If this enemy is anywhere near as strong as his master is, then he is not an enemy that should be fought, not yet.
When told that his ability to find those responsible rested on his continued ability to control his emotions, Razer bristles. "My powers are tied to my anger. Suppressing it weakens me, and makes it difficult for me to fight. I warned you about this. I do indeed wish to find and punish those responsible...but I am not sure if I can promise that. I will try, though. That is all I can promise."
Floating in the air after the girl, Razer sighs. He's not used to suppressing his emotions, not since he took up the Red Ring. His military training helped, but there was only so much he could do against an emotion that truly defined him, as a Red Lantern. At the mention of names, he gives a nod. "And I am Razer. I am glad that I have met you, Raven."

After all he was gaining power, it would have caught the cultists attentions. "Anyone who would not at least mute their emotions in the presence of an empath is a fool. I will not have my mind scanned, not if I can help it. Though...you are welcome." Raven, paused in her thought as the Lantern spoke, considering his words. So many would be fools in his opinion, then. "All I can do is know your emotions and feel them myself. I cannot scan your mind." |
Raven said, it was only fair that he knew more about her powers as she had asked him to control his emotions. Again, Raven went to the books and looked at them. As she opened one book, she found that the centers of the pages had been cut out so that a smaller book was hidden inside it. It was a journal and she started to skim over the handwriting. It appeared that the parents where working against Trigon's rising and Raven's eyes hardened as she read a bit that referred to the daughter of Trigon. "So this...Brother Blood, serves a demon? And these humans were killed in a religious rite?" Raven paused in her reading and nodded. "Yes, although it appears they were chosen as they appose Trigon." Raven said, holding up the journal, before reading more. As she came to the last few entries, Raven frowned. It seemed that the family had a child in their lives. The writer was talking about how they planned to remove the child and send him to an Uncle. Still holding the journal, Raven glanced around, looking for any pictures. "They had a child." Raven said softly, not finding any pictures. Had they had the chance to send the child away or did Brother Blood take him? "My powers are tied to my anger. Suppressing it weakens me, and makes it difficult for me to fight. I warned you about this. I do indeed wish to find and punish those responsible...but I am not sure if I can promise that. I will try, though. That is all I can promise."Anger... it was not a good emotion to have one's powers tied to, Raven thought. She knew that her own powers could be strengthened by emotions but also corrupted by them. "I understand that emotions can be useful in battle although even there they can be dangerous. But if you are willing to attempt to keep your emotions under control when we are not in battle that is all that I can ask." The empath replied. After some thought, she placed the journal down. "You can read it if you want. Otherwise I should put it back." The teenager informed him. "And I am Razer. I am glad that I have met you, Raven." Raven looked over to Razer as he flew in the air as well and nodded. "Do you mind if I teleport us to the locations or would you rather fly to them?" She asked, although she knew that some where quite a distance away. "And it will not be attack on site. I don't know where the actual killers are. Although any cult like activity should be stopped." Raven suspected that the closest base would be where the killers were. Raven's correction brings a nod from Razer. That was good. It removed his worry that, if she caught him reminiscing, she could glean the memory of Ilana from his mind. He did not want to speak about it, and the lapse in his control that occurred after his fight with Sinestro was not something he wanted to repeat. "All the more reason to suppress my emotions. No innocent should be forced to feel the way I do."
Floating up next to Raven, Razer glances over her shoulder as she reads the journal. It was no real shock to oppose a demon, if it had been this Trigon that had stolen his life from him, he would have done the same. However, the fact that the family had a child brought mixed feelings to the Red Lantern. It was obviously bad, since it meant another innocent endangered by the collective lunacy of these madmen. However, it served to distance the murder from his own experience, which made it easier to think. He and Ilana had not had a child in their short time together.
As Raven lays out the terms of their partnership, Razer accepts with a nod. He did not want to inconvenience an ally in this, especially since he would have no way to exact punishment on the murderers without her. He would control himself as best he could, even without an agreement. He was just unsure of how good a job he could do, when push came to shove. When she offers the book to him, he holds up a hand. "I believe I do not need to know this. I will trust your judgment on the matter. There are many facets of Earth I am still unused to, and to try and piece them together would be wasted time."
When Raven asks if he would mind her teleporting him, Razer gives a shrug. "Whichever is faster. It does not matter to me." In truth, Razer had never been teleported before, so the thought did unnerve him slightly. Though, if he did not use energy flying, he would have a bit more to spare on any fighting he would need to do later. And he expected there to be a good deal of it to come.

People often seemed a lot more certain when they knew what someone could do. Of course, that was just the basics of her power. There was a lot more that the Titan could do. "All the more reason to suppress my emotions. No innocent should be forced to feel the way I do." Raven understood how Razer felt, as an empath she often viewed it was her curse to feel everyone's emotions. "If you ever need to talk about your feelings, I do understand how it feels to be burdened by them." |
Raven commented, softly. Having felt the weight of others emotions, the teenager did try to occasionally help others with their emotions. As the journal had been read, Raven felt Razer's emotions and did her best to block them out. The monks of Azar had taught her how to not feel and that did help when it came to not being affected by the emotions around her. One thing that Raven had figured out was that this situation was... somewhat personal to Razer. He felt too strong about it, even though the emotions were kept under control. Or maybe she was misreading the anger that she had sensed when she had first arrived. Razer had accepted the conditions, Raven noted. Which she was thankful of, but a bit worried. She old the most information and she was almost controlling the situation. It was similar to a leader position and the Titan was uncertain of how good she would be. "I believe I do not need to know this. I will trust your judgment on the matter. There are many facets of Earth I am still unused to, and to try and piece them together would be wasted time." With that, Raven placed the journal back in the book she had found it from and placed it on the shelf. So she was trusted. Raven didn't want the trust to be misplaced. "Whichever is faster. It does not matter to me." "Teleportation is instant." Raven said, and then she used her soul-self to teleport them. They would reappear in a poof of purple smoke at a small church that had an underground system where the cultists practiced. Razer turns toward the empath, surprised that she would make such an offer. These humans were an odd folk, willing to put themselves through pain simply to aid someone they barely knew. Then again, wasn't that what all these so-called heroes did? In any event, he has no desire to share the reasons behind his emotions.
"I...will keep your offer in mind." Razer says with some hesitation. He doesn't feel like turning her away, but he does want to dissuade her from prying. His pain was his own, and he didn't need anyone dredging that up. Even if it did make him feel better to think about the happier times every now and again. "But for now, we have a mission to complete."
Still, the way Raven seems to react to him does have Razer on edge. He isn't sure if he could take her completely at her word, she might know more than she is letting on. At the very least, he should make sure to keep things from getting too personal for him. That, he figures, would be the best thing for the both of them. And while the feeling of being led around is an annoyance to him, this time it is by his choice, to follow his own desires. Certainly a far cry from being dragged here against his will, and kept here under pain of death.
As Raven advocates teleportation, he gives her a nod. "Let it be so, then." Razer grimaces slightly, bracing himself for whatever the experience will bring. Holding his ground against the black shadow of Raven's soul-self, he finds himself awash in cold. When he is deposited back on the ground, Razer collapses to his knees, clutching himself. With a grunt, he allows rage to power his ring, lighting his suit in fire for a short time, before containing it once more.
"My species does not deal well with cold. Warn me next time."
Looking around, Razer identifies this place as a center of worship, though of a more culturally accepted religion than Trigon evidently is. When Sinestro took him to explore the buildings that so intrigued the Green Lantern, he had seen several larger cathedrals, and the inside appeared similar, if scaled down by a large degree.
"Raven, are they hidden here? I cannot detect any life forms besides us larger than vermin..."
Expanding his ring's search, he grimaces. "Though, the catacombs beneath the church seem like excellent places to hide."

He had said: "I...will keep your offer in mind." Which generally meant that it wouldn't be brought up later and that they would be grateful for the silence. Not everyone wanted to share their past and Raven understood that. A few more words had been spoken before she had teleported them. The cold was barely noticeable to Raven partly because she was used to it and also because it was her own soul. However as they arrived and Razer collapsed, Raven remembered that the ill Sinestro had not enjoyed her teleporation.
"I'm sorry," |
Raven said, moving forwards, wondering if she could help Razer. Just then she felt anger flare up in him and flames appeared around the Lantern. Cautiously, the Titan took a few steps back. Had she angered him? But then the fires burned down. "My species does not deal well with cold. Warn me next time." Raven blinked, having forgotten that her soul-self was cold. "I had forgotten that my soul-self is cold." Raven said softly, in explanation. "Raven, are they hidden here? I cannot detect any life forms besides us larger than vermin..."He may not be able to sense the life but Raven could feel the emotions of the people below them. Fortunately her teleporation had not triggered any alarms. Or so she suspected as there were no feelings of panic, apart from one and that was a child. "Though, the catacombs beneath the church seem like excellent places to hide.""And that is where you will find them. They have the child in there but I would rather not teleport. I don't think our appearance has set off any alarms but inside it will have." Raven said, walking towards the door and opening it before standing aside to let Razer enter. They would need to find the way to enter the underground maze and then navigate it towards the child. Or in Razer's case, Raven suspected, towards violence or revenge. Just then she felt the fear and panic from the child grow and the Titan winced as the harsh emotions seemed to bite at her being. But it was something she had grown accustomed to. This time it was just strong and sudden. Raven knew it would be preferable to get in and save the child and avoid anyone recognising her as the daughter of Trigon. Although that was unlikely unless they managed this in stealth.[/style] tags:Razer word count: ??? muse: Era notes: None. Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style]

Once he had righted and warmed himself, Razer gives a sigh. "It was not your fault, you had no reason to expect that cold would have that reaction. And if I had full access to my powers, I would not have felt it." He was not blaming her, though the restrictions he holds over his anger was part of the problem. Instead, he blamed Sinestro, who kept him from being able to use his powers for more tangentially useful things, like environment shields when not in vacuum or underwater. Instead, he had to settle for experiencing the discomfort, and righting it after. More efficient, but much more uncomfortable.
"The child is held here? You are sure?" Razer asked, as soon as Raven had brought it up. While he did not doubt her abilities, it was more wishful thinking on his part. If he was to protect an innocent from these monsters, that would necessitate a less obtrusive course of action than blasting down there and burning everyone in rage plasma. He would need to be able to manage a hostage situation. His powers were not as suited for that as a Green Lantern's were, his constructs were comparatively crude, and his primary attacks were indiscriminate. He would need to be clever, and that was always difficult when rage bubbles just under the surface.
"If I simply blast a hole for us, they'd be sure to find us out. However, entering through the front door will get us spotted easily as well. And your teleportation magic will fail as well, triggering their alarms. It seems like they've thought of everything..."
Razer doesn't like being outsmarted. It made him angry, though that wasn't exactly a feat of much difficulty. It hadn't happened all that often, he was intelligent, even if the ring interfered with that often. But when it did, it rankled, a thorn in his side he could not toss away as easily as if he was simply overpowered.
The church's interior was normal enough. Nothing really ornate, it was a small church, but the seats were well-used, and the atmosphere was homey. It was a place where people gathered happily, and enjoyed their worship. There was a bit of stained glass that Razer couldn't help but want to shatter, if only for the light show it would make, and a tinkling chandelier that looked as if it needed only the slightest push to turn into shards of worthless glass. It all struck Razer as something fragile, something...precious. And it was being corrupted as they spoke.
"If we break in, we could at least hold the element of surprise for a short time. Do you have any other ideas?"

Clearly the flames had helped him in some way. "It was not your fault, you had no reason to expect that cold would have that reaction. And if I had full access to my powers, I would not have felt it." The Titan was thoughtful as Razer said that he did not have full access to his powers. Was it because she had asked him to block his emotions. "If my asking you to keep your emotions under control could lead to problems then don't worry." |
Raven said, not wanting to let harm come to Razer because of the anger that he seemed to need. "The child is held here? You are sure?" Once again, Raven concentrated on the emotions. "I believe so. I can feel fear and panic. It seems to be coming from a child unless they have brought a different victim down. But if it is the child then we have located the perpetrators." Raven said, in her calm monotone voice that held no emotion. "If I simply blast a hole for us, they'd be sure to find us out. However, entering through the front door will get us spotted easily as well. And your teleportation magic will fail as well, triggering their alarms. It seems like they've thought of everything..." Raven possibly had an answer to that. "Entering the church won't alert them and if we are to press further I may be able to disguise us with an illusion. The only problem is if they have passwords." Raven doubted that her magic would send off alerts as it was demonic in origin. It would be annoying for them if they had alarms for the magic linked to the thing they were tempting to rise. Entering the building, Raven looked around, trying to figure out which way they needed to head next. It was dreadful to head into a church with the intentions to face a demon worshiping cult. "If we break in, we could at least hold the element of surprise for a short time. Do you have any other ideas?"Element of surprise... Raven thought about that. The emotions were spread out but there was a lot around the fear that she could feel. "It would attract attention and bring more towards us, causing unnecessary violence. If we manage to sneak in then it should be easier to save the child and avoid bringing too many after us. Then we can teleport out." It would be best to take down all the cultists and hand them in but Raven did not want the chance of any of them recognising her. A quick raid of their base might discourage them from their work, anyway.[/style] tags:Razer word count: ??? muse: O Fortuna notes: None. Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style]

As Raven voices concern for him, Razer looks up from his ponderings, slightly surprised. "You need not concern yourself. If I am to unleash my anger on the cultists, there is no need to waste it here. It's uncomfortable, perhaps, but you will be weakened because of it. That is a trade off that is not in our favor."
Razer knew that he was more expendable on this assignment than she was. She was able to read the emotions of the people, and locate the correct path through the catacombs. She was the one who could teleport them out. If he had to go through extra trouble to have those abilities on his side, then that was what he will do. It was bothersome, but it was nothing he couldn't handle.
Razer sighs as his concerns were realized. Just what he needed, a hostage situation. He missed the days when fights were simple, kill your opponent before they killed you. Things were so much more complicated now...
When Raven offers him a solution to his dilemma, he looks up, nodding. "I did not know you had that power. Yes, that would be an excellent way to get in close, with more surprise than if we were to just break in shooting, and less likely to harm the hostage." Her plan seemed all around better, aside from the one flaw she pointed out. "If a password would prove to be an issue, then we can simply default to my plan."
Walking inside the church, Razer uses his ring to highlight all the structural weaknesses in the building, or, more accurately, the windows and doors. Looking for one that would lead down into the catacombs takes him behind the pulpit, in a back storeroom that is far out of the way from the average churchgoer. Ring glowing with energy, Razer steps in front of the trapdoor, pointing down in case he's spotted from the get-go.
"Should I go on point? I don't know how strong your defenses are, but my constructs could take some damage. Or do you know what these cultists look like, so you could disguise us now?"
