Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

DAY ONEPrincess Diana of Themyscira returned to her home island, Paradise Island or the Island of Themyscira. It was full of a luscious landscape overpopulated with beautiful women that had a secretive, often loud, hatred of men. Recently, Diana had been plagued by fleeting thoughts and feelings that the Gods were up to something. The indications would come when Diana was in her condo, doing something simple like washing dishes, and a flash would drive through her mind. The only way she could describe it was like dejavu. Only instead of seeing the present, she’d see a brief glance of Athena that she didn’t actually see, talking to the Gods. It lasted for a split second and was over in a heartbeat. This continued for weeks and finally, Diana sought council. On a quiet day with no meetings, Wonder Woman flew to Themyscira. She was greeted like an old friend returning home from a war and everyone had millions of questions for her. Diana was as cordial as she could be, but she let her friends know that her purpose of coming was to speak to her mother. Queen Hippolyta was speaking to youthful Amazons when Wonder Woman walked in. Everyone turned to look at her and Hippolyta greeted her daughter with a warm smile. The Queen dismissed her students as Diana made her way to Hippolyta to give her a hug. “Mother…” “Diana, speak no more. I know why you are here. You have be troubled by fleeting images of the Gods. I, too, have seen this phantasmagoria. It strikes me when I am sleeping,” Hippolyta worriedly told her daughter. “What are they doing, mother? What do they plan to do to the Earth? It is a rare occurrence. I have tried to step to the astral plane and talk with them to no avail. I can physically feel my soul dispersing from my body but I have the feeling as if… as if they put a cement wall up over the entrance to Mount Olympus. They have banned me. Whenever they stop me from seeing them, it is always a negative feature,” Wonder Woman spoke enthusiastically. “I understand. They are most certainly going to uproot the foundations of Earth. There is something about this rift in the universe that they did not agree to. The Fates are up in arms as well. Though they are bound to silence, they gave me a cryptic message to send to you, Diana,” her mother forlornly said. Her mother grabbed a scroll that was sitting behind her and handed it idly to her daughter. Wonder Woman opened it up and read it with use of her Athena blessed wisdom. It was some strange pre-Greek characters mixed with Latin. The first words translated to “NEW YORK CITY” and the second said “muto” or the Latin word for mutant. Diana’s eyes widened with fear as she stared at the scroll. She looked to her mother and shook her head. “Mother, I have to go. I believe I understand what this means. I want you to ready an elite team of Amazons to stand ready to head to the United States’ New York City. This could potentially get out of control.”Wonder Woman always had her eye on the public and what was going on. She was aware that there was going to be a mutant summit at a convention center in New York City. The purpose of the event was to discuss mutant politics in the changing world and what actions needed to be taken for the betterment of mutants. Though this was the main thing that came to Diana’s head when she saw the scroll, the better question was… why? Why were the Gods choosing mutants? What was it about them? What was planned? Diana said her goodbyes to the amazons on Themyscira as she prepared for battle. DAY TWOThe day was cold and blustery but the sun was shining bright. New Yorkers didn’t know what was about to take place so they were well on their way, up and down streets, attending to usual business. Wonder Woman understood that not even law enforcement personnel knew about the potential attack. This was on purpose. The last thing she needed were humans responding to the scene trying to defeat whatever the Greek Gods sent forth. This was a job for professionals. Diana had her full set of amazon armor on, complete with a headdress, breastplate, sword, and shield. She didn’t want any eyebrows to be raised by those on the streets, so she crouched on the top of the convention center where the mutant summit was taking place. Thus far, the morning and early afternoon had heralded no attacks. Her amazons, skilled in the art of fighting mythical creatures, were standing by, hidden in various locations near the convention center. Thankfully, Wonder Woman’s tiara helped to keep the group of fighting women in contact. She could easily send out an attack order via her crown. But they waited and waited… Finally at 1:00 PM New York time, the ground began to tremor. Wonder Woman tightly gripped her sword and shield as the ground moved. Just in front of the convention center, the pavement split open just like a bad earthquake would. Instead of nothing but empty ground and dirt, multitude of creature-like hands pulled themselves out of the crack. “STAND READY, AMAZONS! TAKE YOUR BATTLE POSITIONS!” Wonder Woman called telepathically to her allies. Different mythological Greek creatures of all shapes and sizes crawled from the hole. There were hydras, chimeras, minotaurs. Every sort and type erupted from the ground til there was an army of at least twenty monsters. They all burst forth and headed for the convention center. Leading them on was one of Wonder Woman’s arch enemies, Medusa. Diana had not soon forgotten when she was forced to blind herself with snake venom so that she couldn’t be turned to stone by the evil snake-headed woman. Almost as if Medusa knew what Wonder Woman was thinking, Medusa tried to look into Diana’s eyes, but the Princess quickly looked away. As civilians started running away and screaming and the amazons took to the streets to fight the beasts, Wonder Woman stared at the sky and screamed. “YOU BASTARD GODS! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO YOUR OWN PEOPLE!” Wonder Woman cried. There was no response, but Diana could feel the heat of their gaze, watching the goings-on from Mount Olympus. Wonder Woman jumped down from the roof to the ground as the battle began. Many of the creatures had already busted into the convention center, attacking any and all of those with a “mutant” signature at will. Medusa was moving away, her snake-like heads snipping and snapping in every direction. The myth creature was obviously on a specific directive being the smartest of the creatures there and Diana was hot on her trail inside of the convention center. The creatures did not outright attack the amazons until the amazons started attacking the creatures. It seems they had been specifically created not to attack those without a mutant signature, unless pressed or assaulted. Wonder Woman hoped her and her amazons would be enough to wipe out the horrible creatures… OOC NOTES:- This will be a fast moving thread. But don’t worry if you get skipped, you can still jump in and roleplay. - You may fight Medusa but do not kill her, I have greater plans for her with a twist… Remember that her gaze WILL turn you to stone if you look into her eyes! She is also a skilled combatant - You may use and fight other GREEK mythological creatures that have not been listed. - If your character is a mutant anywhere near the convention center, you will be ruthlessly attacked. However, anybody other than a mutant is safe unless you attack a creature. This, of course, is not obviously known by your characters, instead they have to figure it out in their own way - Feel free to rip the heads off creatures and kill them in any manner you see fit. - The purpose of this thread is to get Marvel and DC and originals together. I’d love to see an influx of Marvel characters and originals so Wonder Woman can fight alongside them. This isn’t necessary, just what I’d LIKE to see! - This is what DC universe’s Medusa looks like:

Post by Conner "Superboy" Kent on Jan 31, 2013 0:18:08 GMT -5
Superboy was currently walking around New York, muttering a slew of incomprehensible insults and what not under his breath out of sheer spite and anger. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair he was a clone. It wasn't fair Superman neglected him. It wasn't fair the way he was treated. Some may have thought or fought that Superman letting him out to fight crime on his own as a symbol or sign that the man trusted him and believed he was good enough to handle himself on his own. That was probably the lie Superman was telling himself at that very moment. But Superboy could see what it really was. Just another attempt to ignore him. To send him off. It wasn't fair. For Christ sake he didn't even have a name yet! What was he supposed to tell people if they asked his name? It just angered him so much. As did everything else for that much. Superboy stood at five foot seven and weighed one hundred and sixty pounds. He had practically no body fat and was almost entirely muscle. He had a bulging muscular physique that was a sight to behold and he certainly didn't look like someone you wanted to get into a brawl with. His black hair was carelessly ruffled and his facial expression was that of displeased as if insulted and he was spiteful. He was wearing a black shirt with red kryptonian S shield symbol. It was tight on his muscular kryptonian body and the short sleeves ended half-way down his biceps. The shirt was neatly tucked into dark blue jeans with a dark brown belt. He wore black combat boots.
Superboy hated to use his super hearing in places like New York due to all of the sounds and disturbances. Though Powergirl had helped him to a degree in his control of it. But he had to periodically use it to tell where the true danger was happening. However, a split second after using his super hearing he returned to his normal hearing and covered his ears which greatly pained him as they rung with Wonder Woman's yells. Of course, he didn't know it was Wonder Woman. He had yet to see, meet or talk to any of Superman's superhero cohorts. Eyes were on him all around on the street as he had grasped his ears in the sudden pain. His blue eyes signerature to his kryptonian heritage narrowed as they looked around at all of the people.
"Well?!" he called out to them letting go of his ears. "What're you all lookin' at?!" People gave him dirty looks or shuttered before turning away and continuing their everyday business. A few heads turning back to look at the teenager while exchanging whispers with their friends and family and other companions. Superboy slipped away from prying eyes into a dark alleyway before he began to use his super speed turning into a nothing more than a blue, red and black blur as he sped throughout the city to the origin of the yells. He beheld in front of him a rather bewildering sight as he watched various monsters straight out of Greek mythology overturning the city attacking any and all mutants or those that dared attack them. Despite this surprise, Superboy showed no surprise on his face. In fact, his expression hadn't even changed. It wasn't that he was used to this thing like some heroes might be. In fact, he had never seen anything like it. Nothing even close. But he was a stoic person. He had never understood any emotions, even his own, and because of this it was almost always converted into anger.
A large black hell hound rushed forward at a mutant who ran passes him and tripped. The hell hound pounced into the air and Superboy punched it with mild super strength. "At ease, bitch," he spat to the female hell hound as it got up and growled viciously. At that moment Superboy gave such a vicious, wolf like stare, anger glinting in his blue eyes, that it might have caused even the fiercest roman gladiator to cower in fear as did the hell hound for a moment before it was joined by two of it's companions which were dealt with immediately along with the original before a Minotaur charged at him. Rather, say, jump out of the way or counter it like any any normal, sane person, Superboy arrogantly stood his ground in a stoic and firm manner as it approached before catching it by the horns and being pushed back. The cement beneath his feet was pushed up behind him as he kept his footing sturdy and kept hold of the beats horns before he began to slowly push it back step by step with his super strength before finally lifting it up by the horns and tossing it into a Chimera thirty feet away whom had been terrorizing a group of mutants.

Today she had been drawn by a large influx of panicked emotions that shone like a beacon to the half-demon. It was not often that such emotion cried out in such strength and it was a signal that Raven could not ignore. It took little effort to teleport to the situation, the teenager appearing out of purple smoke, the dark soul-self returning to Raven as she floated several feet above the ground, taking in the situation with no words.
A scholar by nature, Raven identified many of the creatures that now swarmed the city. It was a worrying situation, especially with the snake haired Medusa from whom Raven quickly removed her gaze. There were other monsters as well, such as the hydra, hell hounds and minotaurs. Amongst these creatures were humans, some of which were being attacked. The teenager noticed how many were being ignored by the army of creatures that had appeared. None of the monsters seemed to pay any heed to the sudden appearance of the daughter of Trigon.
But there were people to protect and Raven did what she did best. Teleporting in, the teenager took hold of people, teleporting them out of danger before returning to remove more. She would never be one of the heavy hitters, more often than not, Raven's powers were used for keeping civilians safe. But that did not mean that she had no offensive power. At times, Raven teleported to the sides of those who were targeted, raising a shield from her soul-self to protect them from whatever fate awaited them. Teleporting one of the targets away from danger, the Titan cast her gaze around, catching sight of Wonder Woman, a hero that she recognised. There was someone else fighting, someone she did not know of.
But there was no time for reflection, as the emotional atmosphere reminded her, and an attack was needed. Sending out her soul-self, the dark raven speed towards an attacking minotaur, its talons grabbing the creature and flinging it away from the victim before returning to the Titan. Why where they here? What were the links between the people that the creatures were attacking? There were so many unanswered questions that echoed within Raven's head as she teleported a young, lost child away from the danger before returning. Things should become more apparent as the fight continued. They almost always did.[/style]

----------------------------------------- OutfitBruce had finally decided to attend the mutant summit. He felt right at home, and this also gave him the chance to blend in. With the government in full pursuit, Bruce needed to catch a break. He still kept in mind that the government wasn't going to stop, until he was captured. 10 years of running and being a fugitive happened to be very tiring, and even weakened Bruce's social needs. He believed this summit was the safest place for him, from the government. Mutants filled the entire convention center as they awaited the start. Bruce wasn't apart of the summit, but placed himself in the audience.
"What kind of powers do you have?" asked an adolescent who happened to sit next to him. Bruce looked over at the adolescent and ignored him. The boy snapped his finger and revealed a small flame from his fingertip. "My name's Pyro" spoke the boy. Bruce gave a weak smile, but still refused to say anything. Bruce wasn't trying to be rude, but he still wanted to keep his identity concealed. The less the people knew about him, the less trouble there would've been. As the summit began, mutants and humans debated on the good of humanity, and mutants, equally.
Right through the middle of the summit, the earth trembled. "EARTHQUAKE!" people yelled as they took cover. Loads of people dove to the ground kneeling with their hands over their heads position. Bruce did the same thing, out of sheer helplessness. Suddenly the large oak doors flew straight off the hinges and into the crowd of people and mutants. Bruce couldn't see what was going on, but women and men screamed. He lifted his head up to see what was going on. Bruce couldn't believe his eyes. Greek mythological creatures were attacking the summit, and slaughtering people. A woman walked her way into the summit, eyeballing everybody. At first sight people all around her turned to stone. Bruce didn't know whether he was in a subconscious state or not. He still couldn't believe his eyes as more and more creatures began entering their way into the building. Bruce snatched a broken chair leg and ran at one of the hell hounds that was mauling a man. He lunged at the dog, but was tripped up. Collapsing to the floor, his eye glasses slid across the floor. Oozy warmness, spewed from his nose. Looking over a hell hound had pounced on his back and started biting Bruce vigorously in the shoulder.
Bruce now knew this wasn't a dream. As soon as the large jaws of the hell hound met his shoulder, Bruce's heart watch beeped continuously. Bruce gritted his teeth as the pain grew more and more each second, but it suddenly went away. His transformation happened to be more painful than the dog bite. Banner's large tree trunk arms and legs grew and grew. His body started to transform into the Hulk. A pale tint of green, started to grow even greener. The hell hound continued to maul away at the shoulder of Hulk. Hulk snatched the hound by the neck with arm and flipped him over. Balling both fists, he pounded them on top of the hound killing it instantly. Hulk raised his large arms to the sky and yelled extremely loud. Mythical creatures began to swarm at the Hulk, only because he caused so much attention. "HULK SMASH!" yelled Hulk as he began taking a large majority of the mythical creatures on. When Wonder Woman fast footed it into the convention center, before she went in she caught sight of Raven. She was eternally grateful the mystical teenager had appeared on the scene. Knowing the way the brutally strong girl fought, she was bound to save civilians caught in the fire—something Diana wanted to do but couldn’t with Medusa running loose.
She also noted a young boy taking down creatures like nothing. Another hero she was unaware of? These thoughts hastily fleeted from her head; Diana had more pressing issues. Medusa was running wild with certain determination. Wonder Woman, still in full Amazon armor, burst onto the scene. From the corner of her eye, she noted an explosive green creature taking out beasts left and right. Certainly, was that not a product of the Gods? Diana knew that the Gods were working together on this horrible atrocity and wouldn’t soon send a kelly-colored demon to attack mythological creatures.
Regardless, the only thing that mattered was that this demon was attacking the God’s creations. Wonder Woman, distracted by the green thing, was sliced by a suddenly backpedaling Medusa. She used her long claws to strike Wonder Woman across the face. The hit followed by a deadly punch sent Diana flying into the walls of the convention center. The walls cracked at the foundation but Diana didn’t let the hit stop her.
Medusa had hoped the hit would temporarily put Diana out of the game, but clearly she underestimated the ambassador’s ultimate will power. Diana, with a vengeful spirit, plowed forward, her eyes cast to the ground. She charged Medusa with her Amazonian sword raised skillfully in the air.
“Look at me, dear Champion of the Gods, haven’t you always wondered about my beauty?” Medusa cackled.
The snake-headed female deftly shoved Diana’s sword aside and struck her again. This time, Wonder Woman was standing her ground as the punch landed across Diana’s face.
“You would think the extraordinary… Wonder Woman… would realize the Gods would not soon resurrect me without a hint of extra power. They knew who they’d have to deal with, Princess of Themyscira. It makes me laugh that your formerly strong attempts are only feeble now!” Medusa spat.
As she screamed at Diana, her snakes tried to bite the black haired Amazon to send a jolt of poison through her perfect body. Diana wasn’t having anything that Medusa said. Her resolve was firm. The two battled back and forth, though it seemed like the snake-head would get the upper hand on the seasoned Justice League fighter. Without the use of her vision, Wonder Woman could not send the kinds of strikes that she normally would. Though she was one of the best melee fighters on the planet, she depended so much on vision that this escapade was difficult. Medusa had been blessed by the Gods for such an encounter, the extra strength and ability to counter wasn’t like the vile, jealous woman that Diana had fought before.
With two quick strikes, Medusa had Wonder Woman on the ground. Medusa leaned over Diana, keeping her there by pressing down her ligaments with her arm and leg strength. The evil snake queen slowly moved towards Wonder Woman’s face, the snakes snapping their dismay.
“Open your eyes. Open… your… eyes,” Medusa howled, her spit-filled words sliming Wonder Woman’s face.
Who would save the Amazon that was used to saving everyone else? Diana kept her eyes clenched shut, she fancied not turning into a beautiful work of stone art this day. She struggled under the pressure of Medusa’s vice-like embrace, trying to find some resource. However, her normal calls to the Gods would go unnoticed now, for she became an enemy of Mount Olympus by defending mutant-kind.

----------------------------------------- OutfitHulk had three hell hounds, and a Hydra clawing away at his back. More and more became attracted to the large green monster that was present, just because they wanted to meet their match. Hulk slammed and threw punches, killing multiple creatures with just one blow. Nothing was going to stop the Hulk, especially imaginary creatures only to be believed a hoax. The more the hounds chewed away at the Hulk's skin, the more angrier Bruce got. Two hell hounds continued to chew away at his back, but not for long. Bruce snatched both dogs and flipped them over, following both fists. Loud whimpers were heard attracting a hell of a lot more blood hounds. They were definitely bred to kill, but Hulk was bred to destroy.
A whole pack of blood hounds charged at the green monster, but Hulk met them halfway holding his tree trunk like arms out. One by one were eliminated, and it made Hulk want more. The tank looked around, hoping he would find a more worthy opponent. He witnessed two females going at it, making the Hulk very interested. Running with his super speed, the Hulk dove at the two females with two fists in midair, hoping he could get punch the both of them.

Wonder Woman was starting to wonder what being turned to stone would feel like. Her thought was cut short when a splitting, blunt force trauma rocked her whole body. Diana’s blue eyes shot open to find herself, again, slammed against the wall of the convention center—this time in a different section. Little did the Wonder Woman know that Medusa had just been sent flying by a mega green fist. It had collided with Medusa’s back with extreme force and Medusa cried out in extreme pain.
Diana had suffered a better fate than her adversary; Medusa had literally been sent through a wall to the next room. The snake-haired femme gathered herself in the next room as her snakes angrily growled at the mammoth forest figure. Though this gargantuan creature had plowed Diana, in the process he had inadvertently saved her from becoming a stoned female.
Wonder Woman tried to shake off the punch; it was like a punch delivered by Superman times two. She might have ended up dead if it had been a claw sent through her torso with that much force! The fighting Amazon gathered herself and tried to find Medusa’s position without actually staring at the snake woman.
Thankfully, many mutants weren’t exactly harmless. Many of them were putting up a great fight against the myth creatures. Wonder Woman saw fire-powered mutants, beam firing mutants, water-based mutants, and the like all holding their own against the Gods’ own. It seemed like the Gods’ plan was backfiring; they didn’t realize the kind of combative abilities possessed by these people.
Wonder Woman noted Medusa disappearing behind double doors in the room she was slammed through. Just as she was about to chase her down, a hydra the size of the Hulk himself appeared and started attacking mutants. Diana watched in horror as the hydra gobbled up a mutant that was attempting to battle the new creature. Though Wonder Woman wanted to stop Medusa from her ultimate plans, this creature was too big to ignore.
With five snapping, snake-like heads on a singular dragon-like body, this Greek critter was not to be trifled with by those that didn’t understand its attacks. Wonder Woman grabbed her sword and shield that she had dropped nearby and lunged at the vile beast. Immediately, it shifted its attention away from the mutants it had been forced to attack and now fought the Amazonian princess.
Other Amazons joined in the fight with their spears and shield, slicing away at the reptilian creature.

---------------------------- Hulk successfully clobbered the two females, that were fighting each other. One woman flew straight through a wall like a bullet. Disappearing in the clouded debris. Hulk focused his attention on Wonder woman. Seeing that the punch barely effected her, the large monster pried a street light from the ground. Gritting his teeth, the Hulk walked slowly towards the helpless woman, letting the 30 foot pole slide on the ground. Hulk slowly lifted the pole into the air in an attempt to beat Wonder woman with it, but was stopped by the distant loud screeches and cries of a Goliath Hydra. Hulk slowly turned around to find the large monster snapping away at mutants who attempted to take it down. Hulk was always looking to pick on someone his own size, and this Hydra took the cake. He watched as Wonder woman and her amazons began to attack the giantess with brute force. The Hulk broke the light pole in half on his knee like a twig. The very end of the pole revealed sharp metal shards, that could've easily cut through flesh.
More and more mutants and amazons fell to the Hydra. Hulk continued to sprint towards the large monster with his light pole at the ready. As he came closer and closer, Hulk swiped a large hand at an amazon who seemed to be in his way, but he wasn't harmed. Hulk leaped into midair with his pole held like a baseball bat, and swiped at one of the heads of the dragon-like monster. Surprisingly, one of its heads flew straight off releasing large amounts of blood. The other heads began attacking Hulk, trying very hard to bite him. Hulk sprinted away from the kill zone, but was suddenly stopped dead in his tracks.
Hulk's eyes widened as he was in direct eye contact with Medusa, who came unscathed from the debris. The yellow eyes darted straight into Bruce's green ones. Hulk screamed in anger as he slowly started walking towards Medusa, in an attempt to beat the spell. The more Hulk walked, the more his feet started to turn to stone. Coming wee inches away from the woman, Hulk's legs, torso and arms were becoming of mineral. Hulk's loud roars and yells were suddenly stopped as his whole body was formed into a statue. Helpless, the Hulk couldn't move and was very vulnerable.

As the battle raged on inside of the convention center, walls were starting to come down left and right. There were many holes punched in the building with a clear, cold view of outside, though this was not Wonder Woman’s concern. She slashed and dodged with unique precision only available to the Princess of Themyscira. Nearby, the green giant easily took off a head of the hydra as its warm blood poured out in waves.
Diana was now covered in hydra blood. The once white stars on her briefs were now tainted with red and her breastplate was smeared with blood. This didn’t deter the Wonder Woman, however. Her resolve was firm and unrelenting; she didn’t want Medusa to get too far. This was the kind of battle that Diana longed for: mythical, though she wished it had been under different circumstances.
Some of her Amazons managed to slice off two more of the snakes head leaving it with two left to defend its hide. Wonder Woman jumped up and used all of her strength to crash down on the livid creature with her fearsome sword. It cut through the hydra’s head like butter as the head sunk to the floor. Wonder Woman, etched in the blood of fallen enemies, stabbed the final head with a fatal blow, staring into the snake’s dead eyes as it fell to the floor.
The hydra’s body was a mass of twitching, dying muscles as it faded back into nonexistence. Diana was nonchalant about the kill, as she pulled her sword from its neck, she looked to find where the jade monster had gone. Instead of spying its moving, fighting body, she instead saw the poor creature turned to stone.
Wonder Woman lowered her sword and shield and shook her head. She turned to her Amazons that had survived the battle. They all gave her confused glares that showed they didn’t know what to do to the stone-drenched thing. At this point, the only thing that could turn those that had been felled by Medusa’s gaze back was the Stone of Athena…
THE STONE OF ATHENA! Of course! By the Gods, why didn’t she think of such a solution? It had been erected by Athena’s own hands after turning Medusa into a vile snake-headed woman for use by the Gods; she wanted to make sure that if Medusa laid eyes on Mount Olympus that no one would be forced to stone.
Though Diana was skeptical as she hadn’t seen the Stone outside of the Gods’ pearly gates, what good would the stone do her? However, now she understood the connection with the mutant summit and the convention center. A Greek replica artifact traveling show was passing through the convention center. Was this why the Gods decided to attack? What kind of false artifacts were displayed?
Wonder Woman glanced at the stone figure of the hulking beast and realized something here might be able to save him. But what good would a replica Stone of Athena do? Diana raced towards Medusa’s position via flight; there was no time to waste. She found the snake-head moving through the Greek exhibit with an inadvertent slowness. Diana readied her sword and shield, keeping her gaze away from Medusa’s face.
Medusa came to a halt in between a slew of glass cases showcasing a variety of Greek items. Above all of the replicas, there sat a shimmering, diamond-like rock glowing a bright fuschia color from the display’s light. It sat on a maroon pedestal and was approximately the size of an adult fist. The Stone of Athena.
Diana came up behind Medusa and put the tip of her sword on the gorgon’s back.
“What do you want with this room and this display, Medusa? I know you far too well that your triflings are not just child-like games. Your purpose is deviant and malevolent. There is something with this replica Stone of Athena that you desire. It holds no power to you… or I, or does it?” Wonder Woman shoved the blade forward, cutting into Medusa’s flesh.
With a laugh, Medusa’s cackle sent a shiver down Diana’s spine, “Diana, Diana, Diana… always the curious one. You think this invasion will be ended so easily just by understanding the intent of this foolish replication? You would be gravely wrong and it will cost you your life.”
The snakes dotting Medusa’s head snapped at Wonder Woman, but they posed no threat—she was not close enough to Medusa’s head to be bit. Diana wasted no time and with a fell “THUMP”, she punched the glass in front of Medusa and quickly grabbed the replication Stone of Athena. Medusa’s snakes disturbingly snapped their disapproval of the Amazon’s actions.
“You do not want me to have this and clearly… this… means… something to you,” Wonder Woman spat at Medusa, “Let us see if my magical friend has a word about this.”
Diana dodged away from Medusa and removed her sword from the gorgon’s back. With super speed, she shot through the temporary museum, diamond in hand, and found a hole to exit out onto the street. She saw Raven still mercilessly protecting innocents from attack. Raven was a true beacon of hope. Wonder Woman flew over to Raven and landed idly by the sorceress supreme.
She held the glowing Stone of Athena near Raven.
“Can you imbue this with magical properties, Raven? I retrieved it from Medusa who seemed dead set on getting her evil claws all over it,” Wonder Woman asked matter-of-factly.
To any magic user, they would immediately realize this was actually NOT a replica, but the real thing and with the correct blast of magical power through it, it would come alive again…

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:430; height:490; background-color:000000; padding:5; text-align:justify; font-family:verdana; font-size:11px; color:78747F; overflow:auto][style=float:left; margin-right:10px] The fighting was not going well, Raven noticed. There was less time for her to remove the civilians from the battle and more need to focus on the combat. Instead of the purple smoke that had surrounded the teleporting Raven, a giant black raven flew around, grabbing monsters with its talons and hurtling them against each other or dropping the lighter ones from great heights. It was strenuous for the teenager; she kept finding people who needed healing and then trying to talk on all their pains. But there was a limit to how much pain he could take on and even though she could release it upon the attackers it was not enough.
Then there was the large, green creature that Raven had spotted fighting. It appeared to be doing well but the teenager could scarcely bare the emotions that emitted from it. Anger, rage, wrath… call it what you will, either way it was an emotions that Raven knew to be deadly. A deadly sin. This was why Raven attempted to keep her distance from him, least the influences over whelm her as well. Raven figured that one more demon running around would not be of any help. Still, she could feel it wherever she teleported, the emotions casting long shadows with its bright light.
Then it was gone and Raven felt almost blind. Like when a bright light suddenly turned off.
Slowly the emotions began to creep back in and Raven wondered where the rage had gone before she noticed the stone monster. For a moment she was almost moved to pity, indigo eyes staring at the statue. But there was no time to waste and Raven teleported over to a family who had just managed to get together and in their relief forgotten the danger. A hellhound was running to attack and with a quick teleportation the teen was standing between the family and monster. The dark raven flew from the teenager, clawing at the beast’s eyes and sending it away before Raven teleported the family a good few miles from the violence and then returned. Raven was loathed to consider it but she knew that she may be able to take a more offensive stand if she focused her energy. Her power was effective against demons, even an army of them; maybe it would prove to be useful against this army. Then, Wonder Woman appeared besides her.
Looking up, Raven stared at the stone. It was something that she had heard about: the Stone of Athena. “Can you imbue this with magical properties, Raven? I retrieved it from Medusa who seemed dead set on getting her evil claws all over it,” She could understand why Medusa would want it. ”By Azar!” |
[/b] Raven breathed. ”The Stone of Athena.”[/b] Raven worried about her magic; after all, it was demonic in nature due to her heritage. And the Stone of Athena was created by a Goddess. ”I will do my best.”[/b] Raven said, although starting to feel worry prick at her. The teenager knew she was not the best at magic, often using her own soul-self for offense and defence – Doctor Fate or Zatanna would be better candidates for magic. But she had used the Ramat Stone and imbued that with her magic. Surely she would be able to do the right thing now. Well, if she was the only one here who could give it a go, then she would give it her best shot. Concentration in battle was not hard for Raven. The emotional climate had gone down and there was no demon influences trying to bring her heritage out. This was Wonder Woman’s battle and Raven would help the hero with whatever power she had. Indigo eyes focused on the stone as Raven focused on her magic to send a blast through the stone in an attempt to bring it alive. Azar let this work. The Titan prayed.[/style] tags:- word count: 654 muse: None notes: Made at School Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] Maybe it wasn’t the most heroic thing to do, but Sinestro had allowed himself to watch the battle for some time. It had been interesting, to say the least, to watch demons battle humans. Well, slaughter them seemed a more accurate assessment. And then the heroes started to emerge, starting with Diana and her little crew. Sinestro had never seen anything so impressive before, which made him hesitant to get himself involved. Not that he thought he would be a detriment to the cause, but why should he get in the way when it seemed like they had things in hand? It wasn’t like he was particularly interested in saving humans ALL the time, and he was still quite taxed from his last few excursions into the world of heroism. Besides- he liked watching Diana fight. She was… different from most of the other heroes he had been forced to witness and even work with in the past.
But he imagined she would not be pleased with him if she knew he wasn’t lending a hand. So he had started off small, killing the demons that managed to slip away from the main battle and rush down the side streets after the fleeing victims, ensuring that the paths away from the main streets were blocked and secure. It kept humans safe, and allowed for less trouble down the road. Less to hunt down later on, perhaps.
As the battle progressed, Sinestro became more interested in helping out with the core of the scene. It seemed the ‘good’ forces were out numbered and more than a little out matched, especially with the snake-headed creature roaming around on the battle field as well. But it seemed Diana wanted a piece of her. Wanted and almost took more than she could chew. Just as he was about to swoop in and save the day, some massive green brute sprang in last-minute and totally ruined his moment. Ah well- he imagined he was probably the last person Diana wanted to have saving her ass, anyway. And it wasn’t like the Hulk, as he knew the beast was called, didn’t end up escaping unharmed anyway. For his effort, it seemed he was turned to stone for looking at the creature right in the eyes.
Huh.
Something he was going to have to remember, should he happen to do battle with the female monster in the future.
He had learned something about a creature of similar description in his research of earth, though only because he happened to get distracted by interesting history from human’s past adventures. The past always seemed more interesting than the present, especially to someone who had once been an archeologist. He had learned a little about greek myths and lore, learning about their history simply because he had wanted to that day. So he knew tale of something known as Medusa, a snake-headed woman with the ability to turn others to stone. It seemed this being was the same as the one he had read about, though she was decidedly more alive than ‘myth’ should have allowed. Something he probably shouldn’t have been shocked about, given the nature of the planet he was on.
Sinestro felt it was time to stop dicking around as the battle continued to progress. With Diana emerging from some kind of museum and heading over to Raven, who was protecting more than she was fighting, it seemed like some brute force was needed in the place of the recently frozen Hulk.
Brute force was something he could replicate.
He darted into the main fray at long last, using his ring to lift several monsters off the ground. Within the glows around their writhing, mutated bodies, things got extremely heated, incinerating the monsters into nothing more than ash within moments. Beyond the glow, however, the human nearby wouldn’t even feel a slight heat from the attacks, the massive and powerful energy contained within each green bubble perfectly and safely. Sinestro wasn’t someone who made mistakes, usually, so he knew better than to endanger innocent lives with his attacks. Still, that didn’t keep him from using more conventional means of combat, too.
He rather enjoyed slicing into the meaty monsters with a massive sword construct, acting something like a greek warrior as he quickly made mincemeat of his opponents. Actually, it was a little fun to let loose. Normally he had to worry about the whole ‘not killing’ thing. When it came to demons and spawn of unnatural natures, he imagined he was totally able to completely obliterate them without consequence.
So anyone fighting close by might notice a smile on his face as he cut through the forces and made his way over to Raven and Diana.
He landed almost casually beside them, blast a nice hole through the head of the closest demon as he neared the very small collection of heroes. The young girl seemed to be focused on some kind of stone, while the woman seemed focused on her work with it.
“Sorry I’m late,” he commented absently, and most decidedly insincerely, “what’s going on, exactly? It seems I arrived just in time- you and your forces could use all the help you can get.” And such a good thing they had one of the best green lanterns to help them out this time.
Not that he was smug or anything.

When Raven imbued her magical prowess into the sensational crystal, it exploded in a magnificent reddish maroon hue. It looked like someone had turned on a light switch inside of the relic. Wonder Woman was convinced by Raven’s reaction and the stone coming to life that this was no replica like the other artifacts—this was the real deal. What was it doing on Earth?
Sinestro joined the fight when the stone came to life and Wonder Woman was too in shock by the Stone of Athena to worry about Thaal. Her jaw slightly dropped, not enough to disband her confidence but enough to show that this alarmed even the Themysciran warrior princess.
Diana closed her mouth and shook her head, holding the diamond in both her hands. She turned to Sinestro as her mind shot back to important matters.
“It is good to see you, Thaal. You are correct; these monsters are starting to get the best of the Amazons and I. Raven is saving civilians fleeing the scene appropriately. I am going to work on getting those turned to stone by Medusa’s glare back to life with this… Thaal, please watch the tide of battle and assist offensively as best as you can. I need more firepower to send these creatures back to where they came from! Though my Amazons have best intentions in mind, they are not super powered… and require back up,” Diana commanded, pointing to each scene she talked about.
“And lastly… there was something flawed about the way Medusa spoke to me. She has something up her sleeve that I am unaware of. Clearly she understands something about the battle that we are not seeing, nor does she want us to see. I am going to attempt to make contact and find where her true motive lies. If it looks like I need assistance, take action, for she is a beast not easily quelled.”
And with that, she nodded her head at Raven and Sinestro to signal to them to keep doing what they were doing. Wonder Woman wanted to get the green brute out of stone form, clearly… he was a potential, formidable ally in the battle against the Greek Gods. Diana flew back inside the convention center’s large hole back to the stone monster’s position.
Wonder Woman approached the gargantuan stone figure’s position, Stone of Athena in her hand. She pressed the Stone against his adamant leg. Hulk would find himself coming back to life starting from his head working down the rest of his body. It was working! However, Diana could feel the heat of Medusa’s inflexible gaze baring down on her. She didn’t turn to look but instead called to Medusa.
Little did Diana know what she had just unleashed by using the Stone of Athena on The Hulk. Medusa clapped her sinister hands and Wonder Woman could hear the evil gorgon cackling.
“Yes… yes… Thanks be to the Gods!” Medusa cried in excitement.
Slowly, but surely, a white lightning-like effect surrounded Medusa’s body. Electricity coursed through her body and she began to grow… and grow… until Medusa’s head pushed the roof off the convention center. Medusa stood at an extremely enormous, Godzilla-like height; she would even give the infamous villain, Giganta, an extreme run for her money.
“MMM… THE POWER OF THE GODS COURSE THROUGH ME LIKE FIRE!” Medusa boomed, her voice echoing through skyscrapers.
The can of worms that Wonder Woman had just opened by using the Stone of Athena on Hulk was impressive. Wonder Woman looked up into the hole that Medusa had ripped through; it was time to get everyone out of the convention center for fear of them being stepped on.
“Amazons, get the civilians and mutants out of here, NOW! Make sure they do not look ANYWHERE NEAR Medusa!”
Diana motioned with her hands to her Amazons and they quickly started helping people past the mythical beasts and out onto the street, AWAY from the gigantic Medusa. Wonder Woman readied her sword and shield—did the snake monster still have the same weakness as before—her head being sliced off?
Before the Princess could muster another thought, Medusa’s foot lifted high into the air and came crashing down onto the Wonder Woman. Diana held her shield up as the giantess’ foot connected with her shield. It was quite the weight Diana was supporting on her shield and she could feel her shield wanting to crack and decimate under pressure.
”YOU CANNOT SAVE THE MUTANTS. THEY MUST PERISH. IT IS THE WILL OF THE GODS!”[/color] Medusa growled as her giant snakes snapped away on her head.
“I… never… knew… you… as… one… to… serve… the… Gods, MEDUSA!” Wonder Woman howled back under the shield.
Medusa realized that a sheer stomp wasn’t going to take Wonder Woman out, so she lifted both her legs from the convention center and slammed her feet on the street, creating a small quake through the ground. The devilish gorgon noted Raven desperately trying to save fleeing mutants and her eyes narrowed in anger.
“EVEN A PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A DEMON CAN’T HELP THEM…”[/color] Medusa laughed.
The giantess leaned down and her now massive-sized snakes on her head started snipping and snapping at Raven, threatening to put a life-ending dose of venom into her veins.

The there had also been the crystal to focus on. Her magics had appeared to have worked as it was glowing now. “Sorry I’m late,” Surprise came across the teenager's features for a second but she quickly dispelled the surprise. It was an un-needed emotion. “what’s going on, exactly? It seems I arrived just in time- you and your forces could use all the help you can get.” There wasn't much time to talk in this battle, though.
Despite the green creatures large emotions, the Titan recognised him as an important player - he had been effective. A monster was trying to attack the stone creature and the teenager sent her soul-self off to protect the form before having to send it after other monsters to keep them from the civilians and then returning it to herself. Though my Amazons have best intentions in mind, they are not super powered… and require back up,”
For a second, Raven changed her attention from the battle to Wonder Woman. It was good to have someone in charge. Then they were given a nod and Raven teleported away immediately, arriving besides more people. Although the tides would hopefully be turning in their favour soon, the teenager was teleporting everyone as far away as possible. Normally she would just fly people away but in this case quick transportation was needed. There were so many people as well! Quickly, Raven took a group of ten seventy miles away before turning, heading towards another group. Then she noticed that the tides had turned. In their enemies favour. "Azar protect us." |
[/b] Raven gasped, looking away from the giant form of Medusa. Clearly she needed to act faster. In a poof of smoke, Raven vanished and reappeared next to another group bringing them and then another away from the confrontation. But as she came to get more people to save, the teenager realised that she could not remain unnoticed. “EVEN A PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A DEMON CAN’T HELP THEM…”The ground seemed to shudder with the loudness of the voice and Raven clutched her ears and closed her eyes as the snakes started snipping towards her. Maybe it was a good time to show that a daughter of Trigon, even when denying her heritage was not weak. Besides, Raven did not like being called a demon. "Stay away from me and these people, Monster!"[/b] Raven exclaimed, lifting her arms, her cloak billowing out as the Titan unleashed her dark soul-self (baptised by Trigon) and all her emotions with it. The dark bird was larger than normal as the teenager felt threatened and over whelmed by the presence around her. Raven herself had little control as her soul-self moved to protect her and attack. The teenager seemed frozen in place as her greatest offence took wing. But would it be enough to protect her against the legendary monster?[/style] tags:- word count: ??? muse: Nightwish notes: Left it fairly open as I don't know how strong Medusa is. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] Thaal Sinestro was not usually someone who enjoyed being ordered around, but he imagined he could allow on this one occasion. After all, this was all within Diana’s element, and Sinestro was not familiar with mythical beasts or magical items. The ladies would have to do the tactical stuff, while he focused on being the muscle. Which seemed fine, as he was brushed off like nothing important anyway by the mighty lady.
“You got it, boss,” he told her after she had finished with her orders, floating off to deal with the masses of monsters that still roamed the streets. “So… they like monsters, do they? I’ll show them monsters.”
There were few moments where the reserved, intelligent man really cut loose with his power- where he went all out to show just how much might he could control all at once. Normally, he liked to use controlled dosages of his power, using as little power from his ring as possible, while still using enough to get the job done.
This, however, was a time where he didn’t not feel the need to restrain himself. His ring took on a brilliant glow as it brought forth an army from thin air. Green, transparent forms appeared up and down the various sections of the battle, roaring to life and instantly battling against the demons and creations standing against the amazons. In an instant, Sinestro had his former corps- a green construct replication of every single member of the yellow lanterns, minus a few he had perhaps never known or never cared about. Over six thousand roaring, snarling monsters attacking the bad guys and defending the earth. Something that would likely never happen in reality again. Sinestro let his men charge into battle. Considering they were made of his power, they were certainly a better force to use than real lives. Most real lives, anyway, as even though he had a whole army fighting for him, Sinestro also threw himself into the fray. He was never one to stand back and let others do the work for him, even fake others he had created. No, he really enjoyed leaping into fights right along with his comrades.
A product of his ancient Green Lantern days, perhaps.
As the warriors fought off the beasts alongside him, Sinestro turned his sights back towards the battle he wasn’t meant to participate in. It seemed things were… not going that well. A massive creature had sprouted in his time focusing on his huge creation, and she seemed very eager in killing both Diana and Raven. As much as he might have wanted to help them, there were still humans that needed to be taken from the area. The Amazons, too, needed a clear path away from the battlefield.
So he continued to focus on his constructs, using them to help clear through the monsters to get through to some kind of safe area.
-Ring power: 32%-
His ring beeped an update about just how much power he was pouring into his attacks. He would be out of juice fairly soon if he had to continue using so much of his light. But it seemed like he was doing alright. At least he knew he would go down fighting, if it came right down to it. Smiling, almost pleased with being able to fight like he used to, Sinestro moved himself through the mess to get over to Raven, helping protect her as she sent her soul-self to deal with the giant monster. He didn’t know how they were supposed to beat the thing, but he was willing to do whatever was needed. Perhaps Diana would have some idea tucked up her sleeve. Err. Bracelet.
Creating a sword, Sinestro slashed through anything that tried to get too close to Raven, including snake-like beasts from Medusa’s head.

[/img] -----------------------------------------[/center] The Hulk's head slowly started to unravel, as large pebbles began to fall to the ground until his entire body was formed back to his green human self. Despite being turned to stone, the Hulk's anger was at an all time high. The Hulk roared so loud, that almost everyone turned their eyes to the large green brute. He then turned his attention to the large woman-like creature. He gritted his teeth out of mere anger, and wasn't even close to caring about the size. The Hulk only cared about the challenge, and in a way it almost excited him. The large foot of Medusa came down hard, on top of the Hulk and Wonder Woman.
The green Brute immediately lifted his large hands, where it met with her foot. Hulk roared loudly, as both he and Wonder woman, escorted the large woman out of the convention center and onto the street. Moving out of the last impacting stomp, Hulk's anger began to increase as he looked up at the large giantess. Suddenly, Medusa focused her attention elsewhere; giving the Hulk the chance to get in position. Running very quickly to Raven's position, the Hulk watched as the snakes continued to attempt to snap away at young girl. Roaring loudly, the Hulk leaped into mid-air withdrawing a fist. A slight opening revealed the large face of Medusa, giving the beast an open opprotunity. The Hulk's fist met dead on with the giantess's cheekbone, hopefully making Medusa back off with her large deadly snakes.
